Total voter turnout in the City of Victoria was 12,327, 17.5% of registered voters.

even if you do not like the low turnout maybe there is lots of satisfaction in that there are only 3783 hard-core TV voters out there.

TV had a pretty flashy looking campaign and that's all the support they could drum up?

Very good point--recall that in 2018 all three TV candidates got over 10,000 votes each. This is a crushing defeat for Hardman.

But I would not say this is a long-term trend, just a temporary setback for them. Homeless chaos won the election for Andrew just like it sank councillor Phillipe Lucas back a while.

The question remaining:

Will Hardman cheerfully and respectfully congratulate Andrew?

Or will she warn that the forces of negativity won tonight? Will she go high or low?

I don't think people associate the problems with leftism. They'll probably still vote tv next time.

Congratulations to all the candidates who ran. It’s hard work, even more so in the midst of a pandemic, and you all should be proud. Congrats to councillor-elect . Welcome to the council table.

Maybe she will file a lawsuit claiming mail in ballots in Saanich and Langford are illegal and ask the BCSC to toss the vote.

This outcome could encourage more participation from center leaning candidates in the next election ......who may have thought why bother.

17% turnout according to the City. Obviously lots of folks stayed home but surprisingly that helped SA.

17.5% voter turnout for a by-election held in the middle of a pandemic, 12 days before Christmas, actually seems like pretty decent numbers to me.

^And the weather was about as perfect as it could be. Four years ago today it was snowing.

This is a different tone than Sarah's previous tweets about Stephen.
