Ironically, some of the postings from TV supporters are exactly why the vote turned out the way it did.

There was far too much whining and boo-hoo-why-is-the-world-against-me in this election. I've never seen anything remotely like it.
The world is against them because they bit the hand that fed them. In 2018, the public believed the nice sounding words of the platform - that together Victoria would bring social justice. What the public failed to grasp was that the social justice would come at a direct expense of public safety and wouldn't feel like justice at all but rather like an envious and bitter group seeking revenge on anyone and everyone over an arbitrary age (45??).
The world doesn't work in the way they want it to and we're not going to sit back and watch as they reimagine how things should be and commit a litany of injustices in the process.

And I’m just scratching the surface. Don’t forget about calls to defund the police and line up social services agencies to provide alternate public safety programs, the parking situation in downtown Victoria which saw Sunday paid parking rolled out for a free youth bus pass program (never mind the disregard for parking issues in general) which didn’t raise enough money and need taxpayer support, and so, so much more.
What are you referring to as a disregard for parking?

There’s going to be a lot of finger pointing, and naturally the battle cry is that the turnout is proof of how dangerous homeowners are to the cause. It’s the home owning seniors, during COVID, who won it for Andrew, because the renters were too busy to have time to request a ballot in the mail, attend a dozen early voting opportunities, or take several minutes out of a Saturday to vote in any one of multiple voting places. Of course.Absolutely hilarious watching the TV supporters whine and complain over on the Local Gov 2.0 FB page. Blaming the mean spirit of Victorians, fear of homelessness.
Heres a classic.
The leadership knows the veil was lifted too fast and too high, and it exposed a movement that for a lack of a better term showed itself to be staggeringly incompetent. It’s one thing to theorize about global equity and the merits of socialism, and quite another to sustain a living organism that is being robbed of everything that made it vibrant and attractive and productive as you mishandle every single situation brought before you and pursue a baker’s dozen agenda items hoping the public at large doesn’t catch on to your plans being put together literally as you forge headfast into the unknown hoping that it’ll somehow bring about the positive change you promised to deliver.

No plans for municipal investment into public parking supply as thousands of public parking stalls were replaced by rapid development.

Not a lot of twitter posts from TV after the election, but there is one from Potts a few days ago that targets "homeowners".
since 1862 policies were written with predominantly property and business owners in mind. Expanding policies to attempt to include renters and the unhoused should be seen as necessary not controversial
So what exactly does she want rewritten? Beacon Hill Park Trust or CoV itself? How are renters not covered by these "policies"? Given someone renting across the street from Beacon Hill Park might not feel thrilled about what's going on, it wasn't a smart post.
Homeowners, Businesses and a substantial number of Renters are all labelled as "the opposition" by Together Victoria in one single tweet. Priceless.

i guess they could have campaigned on the massive contributions made to civic life and discourse by the exsisting TV candidates - Potts and Dubow - after all, the proof of the pudding is on the tasting!

But they didn't achieve social justice either, only punished imagined enemies, rather than trying to work with them productively.

So build another parkade? I think we may have to agree to disagree on this one. Just don't think that's the best land use of space downtown. Rather than encouraging more driving downtown they could put that $ towards better transit and alternate modes of transportation, leaving room in the parkades for those that really do need to drive.

Thank you, Stefanie Hardman - Together Victoria, for stepping up to the plate and dedicating basically three months of your life to a campaign– not once, but twice. We were amazed by the amount of energy you poured into running, from constant phone calls, to community surveys, to social media conversations and more. It really was incredible to see.
This was a very tough time to campaign. Not being able to take our message door-to-door made things difficult. We really want to send a huge thank you to our heroic volunteers who tried their best anyways, and made huge efforts to phone people and rally support over weeks and months.
Congratulations to Stephen Andrew, and well done again to Stefanie and the rest of the candidates who put their name forward to run– the sacrifice is real.
We are so grateful to our members, our volunteers, and our supporters who stood up and fought for progressive values. We won’t stop fighting either.

I am an atheist and I love Christmas/holiday season lights and decorations. I don't associate them with any religion, just something that brightens the darkness of this time of year. I am not sure who Comrade Isitt thinks he is impressing with his stance on holiday decor.
I'm also agnostic and come from a Jewish family, and absolutely adore Christmas lights.
