Don't get the shits in Ladysmith:
Arbitrator rules to reinstate worker as company COVID-19 policies were unclear
Sep. 15, 2021
When Jeremy Arnot ordered a bad plate of chicken wings to his Ladysmith hotel room while on a work trip, he had no idea it could cost him his job.
The wings allegedly induced a case of diarrhea for Arnot, whose employer then insisted he get tested for COVID-19. When Arnot failed to follow the company’s COVID-19 policies, he was fired, told to pay for his hotel room and find his own way home to Trail. But now, labour arbitrator Paul Love has reinstated Arnot’s employment as an industrial cleaner, saying that companies need to establish clear COVID-19 safety protocols and ensure their employees are trained on what to do if they may be infected with COVID-19.

Well if they’re unvaccinated how are they getting access to your bars?

That just started silly... less % of 21-40 than 41-60 year old's still stands. When I was out on Monday night, for sure more 40+ were out...

They are also the demographic serving you at restaurants, and cooking your restaurant meals.

You said vaccine hesitant people are young. I think far more hesitant people are older, than are younger. Vaccine indifferent would be what I’d describe the younger demographic not getting the vaccine.
They are also the demographic serving you at restaurants, and cooking your restaurant meals.
I did say young and healthy, that could mean 40s or 50s, depending on how fit people believe they are. Obviously though young people aren't rushing for it though it doesn't look too bad..
Found this:
80 + = 98.92%
70-79 = 96.67%
60-69 = 90.18
40-49 = 84.35
50-59 = 83.3
30-39 = 82.56
18-29 = 79.93%

87.3% of the hospitalizations in the last two weeks are from about 20% of the population. 37 time more likely to be in the hospital, but yeah, not quite sure if the vaccine is very effective.

Alberta announces vaccine passports, restrictions as COVID-19 overwhelms hospitals
So AB ends up with the same result in terms of restrictions, but got a lot more people sick and put more strain on the health care system on the way there.
"Open for summer" my ass. Is there anything we couldn't do this summer that Albertans could? If so was it worth it?
For those that count themselves among the right-wing members of this forum, does this surprise you? Are you a little happier with how things were handled in BC now?
No one wants restrictions, but the dangers of ignoring the problem and burying their head in the sand are on full display in the province next door.

I am just reading the restrictions now, and they actually go a lot further in Alberta than what is in place in BC.
The first 5 bullet points alone:
- Private indoor social gatherings for fully vaccinated individuals will be limited to those of the same household and one other household to a maximum of 10 people. No restrictions will be placed on children under 12.
- Those 12 years of age or older who are unvaccinated are prohibited from attending any indoor social gathering.
- A mandatory work-from-home order will be in effect, with exceptions in cases where an employer has determined a physical presence is required.
- Outdoor private social gatherings are permitted to a maximum of 200 people, with two-metre physical distancing maintained at all times. Outdoor events and facilities with no indoor portion (excluding washrooms) will have no attendance restrictions, however two-metre physical distancing must be in place.
- Places of worship must limit attendance to one-third fire code capacity. Face masks will be mandatory and there must be two-metre physical distancing between households or two close contacts for those living alone.
The rest are towards the bottom of the article I posted above: Alberta announces vaccine passports, restrictions as COVID-19 overwhelms hospitals

While museums, like public libraries and art galleries, did not have to require patrons to show proof of vaccination for entry, the Royal B.C. Museum opted to do so.

It’s totally believable. The passport is exactly the sort of thing that can set off people with anti-governmental tendencies. None of this is new or unique, it’s just that we haven’t had this much media exposure on it because it has never really been of interest to the media. But you’d be surprised (if you didn’t already know) how many people act that way towards all sorts of businesses or institutions, outside of COVID, because of perceived issues they have with them.
But death threats? That’s just insane

Right-wing?
Didn’t research show the typical anti-vaxxer is a mid-aged Liberal-supporting woman?

Didn’t research show the typical anti-vaxxer is a mid-aged Liberal-supporting woman from Ontario (also a right-wing province)? Ontario is faring quite well under its right-wing government.

Alberta took the Swedish method and it went very poorly for them.

I didn't mention anti-vaxxers. There are right-wing, pro-vax posters on this forum. My comment was directed to those that preferred fewer restrictions. That's what happened in Alberta, and look at the result.

they are also moving to outdoor dining only. which is not great as we enter fall.
Restaurants that "voluntarily" accept the vaccine passport can remain open for indoor dining.
Which is basically the same thing that's happening here, expect they're framing it differently because Kenney promised that there would be no mandatory passport in AB.
