He's not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident either. Given that he has renounced his royal duties etc. then he is a guy named Harry Windsor and he can get in the line that is forming around the corner.

That is an interesting point of law. The Royal family, even without duties, are the Canadian Royal family, a completely separate legal position than from the UK. Canada needed to pass our own succession act to be in sync with the UK because the Royal family is no longer only a UK legal issue.

So, can Canada bar Harry and family from entering?

This is something never considered. Before 1982 any Royal could move to Canada and live and work here as the Parliament in London still has a final say over Canada.

Do you actually believe this trash news?
"Sources", "Friends", and other non-entities "confirm" they've moved to LA but there's been absolutely no sign of them anywhere - as in zero sightings.

Come on, WTF would move to LA from Pat Bay in the middle of the black death of our time, and with a little kid in tow for goodness sake?

I mean maybe they are down there, but with all the junk news that surrounds them I'd give it a 50%/50% chance that they're still comfortably ensconced in Pat Bay, and the press picked up on MM flying down to LA to solidify her Disney elephant movie deal.

But no parent in their right mind would fly to a COVID-19 hot spot (LA) from the classic COVID-19 cold spot (Pat Bay) with their new baby - (or would they?).

No sightings because they don’t want to go out in public because of coronavirus?

Good private medical care in LA?

The possibility of being locked out of the US?

“They have been living in a secluded compound and haven’t ventured out amid the coronavirus pandemic,” People reported.

Queen Liz is the Monarch of Canada, and the personification of the Canadian state.

Assorted bits of constitutional legislation have vested almost all of her powers in the Vice-Regal (Governor General) as required.

Harry's long term status would, when push came to shove, likely be heavily influenced (or dictated) by the Vice-Regal, and there is little doubt that she would take into account his own line to the throne, one that could one day result in seeing Harry on the throne, and thus the the Monarch of Canada.

Harry would likely be able to leverage some remote pieces of legislation combined with Canada's taste for the traditions associated with the Monarchy, which would allow him to remain in Canada as he wished - with the Governor Generals blessing.

But all that is apparently irrelevant, as they seem to have focused on California as their "North American location" ... where he and Meg are another celebrity couple in a city overflowing with celebrity couples.

Harry and Meghan tell UK tabloids they will no longer deal with them

Duke and Duchess of Sussex accuse outlets of running stories that are ‘distorted, false, or invasive beyond reason’

The couple’s total ban on dealing with the British tabloid media also applies to the Sunday editions of the newspapers and their associated websites. Harry and Meghan have previously made clear that they particularly object to the way stories from British newspapers about the couple are carried around the world, especially by the Daily Mail’s sister publication MailOnline – which has an enormous audience in the US – and its columnist Piers Morgan.

Meghan was a minor celebrity, an actress in a supporting role in a B-series made in Canada. Not zackly Hollywood. Harry's value lies in being a royal and getting invitations to the A-list dinner parties where wifey can make contacts and advance her career. Canada was a bit player, a diversion, and we shouldn't feel rejected. Or are we that insecure we need their approval?

They didn’t last long in Canada before heading to L.A., and now reports indicate that Harry and Meghan have swapped Vancouver Island for a mansion in Beverly Hills owned by movie mogul Tyler Perry.

Prince Harry is friendless and unemployed in LA, misses 'having a structure': report

It's been a little over a month since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the bold move to California and now a source close to the Duke of Sussex believes his American life is lacking structure.

Duchess of Sussex officially departed as senior members of the royal family at the end of March, marking a new life of unknowns as the couple vowed to earn their own keep and split their time between Harry's native Britain and Meghan's North American roots.

After reports surfaced about Harry's loneliness in Los Angeles, Calif., where he and Meghan are living large in an $18 million mansion reportedly owned by Tyler Perry, a source tells Vanity Fair he's homesick for a couple of reasons.

unemployed?  he should have stayed and applied for the CERB.

So sick of hearing about the woes of multi-millionaires being bored in their ivory towers. Talk about being out of touch with reality.

The report is:

  1. On fox news (one anonymous source is enough, no "fact checking" required)
  2. For Vanity Fair (a classic 3 dressed up as a 9, pretending to be a highbrow society magazine, but in reality just another gossip rag).
  3. Sporting as the sole source of the information as a chap named "anonymous". (this same chap seems to supply 99% of the facts to almost all news stories these days)

In other words, it's not a "report", indeed it's nothing more than National Enquirer level rag work. Not a single word came from Harry's mouth, and the article is very likely a complete and utter fabrication designed to sell magazines.

I get that outrageously outrageous outrage is the "in-thing" these days, but one always has to be personally concerned about lowering stress in order to prevent stomach ulcers.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have “thrown” the Cambridge children “under a bus” by leaving the working Royal family, it has been claimed, as “friends” of the future king and queen tell Tatler magazine of frustrations behind the scenes.

The couple’s decision to leave meant the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had to pick up “enormous” responsibilities to fill the gap, one friend said.

Saying the decision to depart the U.K. for a new life based in Los Angeles was “selfish”, sources told how the Cambridges hoped to combine their duties with being “hands-on parents” but now face extra pressure.

I can see Harry being homesick for certain things in the UK. My mum was British and she always missed her home, even after many years in Canada there was nothing like London for her. I thought I saw a story somewhere today that drones were invading their mansion space. Perhaps they should have stayed here after all.
