Protesters are defying the injunction and bringing camping gear, salmon and firewood to the Legislature. Cops are on the scene.

VicPD:

We're bringing one of our vans to the Legislature driveway. This is to keep our officers warm - it's chilly down there. This is NOT a precursor to arrests.

Vicpd: Our officers remain on scene at the Legislature protest. We'll remain there overnight. Our role during protest events is to ensure protests are safe, peaceful & lawful.

If they're in contravention of an injunction, does that not mean that they are not lawful?  Enforce the law - and establish the track record of doing so, or face an ever escalating number of these events that unfairly impinge on the rights of other British Columbians to go about their lives.

^Never wise to get into a confrontation with someone whose goal is to get into a confrontation.

Unless there is violence, the best choice is for VicPD to stand back and let the politicians untangle this mess.

After all, it's decades of political foot-dragging that brought us to this point. Bringing out the riot batons won't solve it.

Come on that’s literally their jobs. It worked in Ontario with no major issues. The courts have ordered these people to leave with injunctions. The police have a duty to enforce it. In my opinion the police have been shamefully enabling these protests

Vic PD should be cited for contempt of court for failing to enforce the injunctions

It does make me wonder, say a police force was not enforcing an injuction to clear rail lines. Can CN sue that province/police force for the revenue lost while the injuction was not being enforced?

Sounds like the protest in CSaan will be going ahead.

Make arrangements if you’re heading to the airport of Swartz Bay, or back into town through there.

You would think they would have learned their lesson with the tent city fiasco and how standing aside just emboldened the campers. When Saanich and OB stood up to them you could see it disintegrate quickly

Why doesn't she just send an Interac e-transfer then?  ;)
