Facing sky-high inflation, consumers put away their wallets more often in July, new data revealed Friday, as retail sales fell for the first time since 2021.

I fell badly for retailers, if it isn't one thing it is another.

We never wore masks on our Air France flight from YVR to CDG or onward to VNC. On bus tours they announce masks are mandatory and then promptly take their mask off.

Air Canada Vancouver to Zurich, masks were mandatory but so many people had them on their chins etc, none of the staff said anything. Contrast to six months ago when you’d get your knuckles rapped for doing the same.

They are still trying the old method but it’s not flying anymore. Really? The kids now?

Should I pay for gas or buy fresh fruit for my kids? These are my impossible choices

I had a plan though: Go back to school, get an undergraduate degree, then work for a year before getting my master's.

Everything was in motion and going according to plan. I had a 3.8 GPA while juggling volunteering, a busy week of extracurricular activities for the kids and parenting basically on my own.

It was a lot.

I was living off of student loans, child support and other government benefits. It was far from ideal, but it was manageable.

Get a job?

That’s propaganda setting up for UBI. Otherwise the article would be more scathing of those responsible for shutting down small biz, the economy, printing trillions of dollars and generally messing everything thing up with zero accountability.

It’s a shame Canada did not prioritize healthy living. We could be so much better off if we had good leadership.

Africa, low vaccination, covid over.

Did Uganda promote healthy living?

No, they were not able to do much of anything due to limited resources.

They do have the benefit of a younger average population, which is consequently healthier.

Arrivecan has swollen to 608,000 reviews now. Facebook has 110,000. About 480,000 five star reviews if you look at the rough percentages. This needs to be investigated.

If our government is contracting Russian bots for the purposes of propaganda we should know right? That’s what our journalism institutions are for right?

Indeed. Something fishy is going on there.

Lots of apps will prompt you in-app to click on a number of stars (ie asking you how you like the service) and then will automatically post a review on your behalf. That is likely what is going on here.

I think most do, but even so they have 100k reviews after years. ArriveCan is bananas.

I also find many negative reviews with five stars.

Everyone who travelled had to use it and even if only 10% of those people clicked the 'like button' then they would easily have that number of reviews.

I guess they needed to test the political science before confirming.

NORFOLK, ONTARIO: The Justice Centre is pleased to announce that the Crown has dropped charges against former MPP Randy Hiller, former MP Derek Sloan, Pastor Heinrich Hildebrandt, and private citizen, Dan Stasko. The four men were allegedly involved in peaceful rallies against Covid measures in June 2021 and were charged with violating public health orders under the Reopening Ontario Act. After negotiations with Bally Hundal, a lawyer retained by the Justice Centre, the Crown dropped all charges, stating that prosecution was no longer in the public interest.

Ontario has implemented lockdowns since the beginning of the pandemic and placed significant restrictions on the right to peaceful protest. In June 2021, the four men were charged for participating in a peaceful demonstration in Norfolk, Ontario. There were approximately 200-300 people at this outdoor demonstration against the Covid measures implemented by the Ontario government.

Mr. Hillier, Mr. Sloan, Pastor Hildebrandt and Mr. Stasko were concerned with the Covid restrictions – health orders which significantly curtailed the right to peaceful protest. For exercising their Charter rights to assemble peacefully and protest the government measures, they were charged with offences carrying potential fines of $100,000 to each individual as well as up to one year in prison.
