Mr. Weaver agreed on Thursday that the minority government worked well.
“Do I think Mr. Horgan deserves another term? I certainly do,” said Mr. Weaver, who has lately sat as an independent in the legislature and been at odds with his former party. He is not seeking re-election after seven years as an MLA.
“We worked so collaboratively over three years that it would be very difficult for me to wear an antagonism hat and campaign against him.”
I don't really understand why people think Horgan owes the Greens and Furstenau anything. Weaver's feedback on the Greens is completely ignored. For everything we have heard there is going to be 100 times more that isn't made public.
Stirling had a caller on his program yesterday where they both were saying that there is an "unwritten rule" that parties don't run a candidate against the leader of another party. That's ridiculous. They teleport leaders into safe ridings like they did with Cristy Clark running for Kelowna. They certainly don't have some sort of "Gentleman's agreement" to stop democracy for leaders.
