What about companies like General Foods?

The art of a company like that is to stay within a narrow band of growing and dying, growing and dying, growing and dying.

Netflix is losing subscribers because they are going to start cracking down on password sharers.

In all cases we have to refer to the great Elon Musk on why Netflix is losing subscribers.

I would agree, most shows are getting unwatchable. Unless I am watching old reruns of Seinfeld.

I cancelled because so many of the shows become painful to watch.

Yeah, it's amazing how every show has to have at least one, preferably more. gay people.

I may have worked with or been in the company of gay folks in the past, but I didn't know it, and it was none of my business.

A lot of agendas being pushed.

Have you seen any new advertising that didn't have a black person in it? Very few and far between.

I can think of two or three shows that don't follow that script, those are the ones I watch first.

Friends, Seinfeld, The Office, Parks & Rec. continue to be the most popular shows.

None of which could be made today.

Well, there is After Life, where Ricky Gervais runs around calling people disgusting fat pigs and from time to time cuts to splashing his deceased wife with liquids or throwing edibles at her.

He’s an odd duck, that man.

Know it all.

There are lots of things about After Life that no broadcast network in North America would ever touch.

I’ve watched it all, it’s good but not great.

It introduced me to Diane Morgan, for which I am grateful.

Witness the current stumbles of Jon Stewart.

His Apple TV+ show, “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” which debuted in September, has failed to gain traction in its first season and lags far behind its competitors on broadcast and cable TV.

Last fall, about 180,000 U.S. homes saw the show’s first episode within the first seven days, according to the measurement firm Samba TV. By the fifth episode, which aired in early March, about 40,000 U.S. homes tuned in, down 78% from the season premiere. By comparison, an episode in March of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” was seen in 844,000 U.S. homes, Samba TV says.

This is cringe worthy...  What's the agenda?  There are other points of view that might have merit? I'll have to give it some thought on shows that don't follow that 'script'.  Yellowstone, Moon Knight, Patriot, You, Slow Horses, Ted Lasso?  So you will watch shows that have only gay white people first?  Did I understand that correctly?  You are ok with gay people in your life as long as you don't know that they are?  Too much to unravel here, let's say those questions are all rhetorical.

I think what the original poster likely means is that some shows / commercials overcompensate with minority casting. That’s all.

Peepshow was great TV. As was Spaced. Avatar the last air bender series is a masterpiece as far as kid friendly shows go. I recommend it highly as I have watched every episode! My son many times over.

Don't really consume much anymore so out of the loop. Watching Moon knight with my son. It's just OK... A little too violent. I do find it interesting that my son always comments on the morality in these shows. Hard for him to figure out who the good guys are since they are always killing people.... He shouldn't be watching it at all but too late...

Yes I miss shows from the day.

You could learn great history even from comedies like Hogan’s Heroes. Like how the Germans were mostly kind, if even a bit bumbling the way they ran the PoW camps. It seemed to work though, as there was never a successful escape from Stalag 13. Same as how the Scranton branch of DM was always a top performer.

More believable to me for a Egyptian god based antihero to have violent tendencies than many other Marvel movies or shows have had. I'm rather enjoying Moon Knight.

Maybe it’s increasing the value of my moon night comics.

Free, ad-supported service Pluto TV joins Canada's streaming landscape

“I think the simplicity of TV is super-important and audiences are looking for viewing experiences that are easy and seamless,” Jollet said at a launch event Thursday in Toronto.

“There is no registration, there is no subscription, no coding costs, no need to put in a credit card or whatever. Just download the app and watch.”

Pluto TV is the latest in a growing number of ad-supported alternatives to Netflix and other subscription platforms.

It launched in Canada the day after CBC officially debuted its own FAST service, the free 24-hour streamer dubbed CBC News Explore.

Other ad-supported, free on-demand options include Tubi and CBC Gem, while the Roku Channel also offers comparable services.

Pluto TV promises more than 20,000 hours of content divided among more than 110 channels defined by theme — among them live channels dedicated to factual, kids, drama and reality programming — and single-series such as “Judge Judy,” “NCIS” and “Hawaii Five-O.”

More than 30 channels are devoted to Canadian content provided by Corus Entertainment.

That includes six home and DIY channels featuring reno-celebs Bryan and Sarah Baeumler, Sarah Richardson and Scott McGillivray; four food channels including series from chefs Anna Olson and Lynn Crawford; five kids channels with shows including "Max and Ruby," "Franklin," and "Degrassi: The Next Generation; and 14 national and local news channels.

Pluto TV is available on Apple TV, iPhone, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast, and Samsung and LG smart TVs.
