hmm. hate to be a change-hater, but I liked V.1. Nothing terribly wrong with the changes, but I consider the old (what? six-month-old?) school to be a little more funky. Will read and love y'all anyway.

So are there any links to examples of a forum similar to what will be V 3.0? What's the name of the program? Just curious.

Will we be able to upload photos and videos directly from computers or do they still need to be hosted on youtube and other photo boards. It woudl be really nice if they could be directly uploaded onto VV and not to a thrid party.

I'd imagine bandwidth could be an issue here, especially for video. Does VV make enough from advertising revenue to cover the costs?

The new system will allow direct image hosting on the forum. We will also be releasing a mobile skin to make it easier to navigate the site with a mobile device.

As for videos that remains to be seen if we can handle such a load as video hosting could get a little problematic and linking a YouTube video to a post is quite simple.

I snapped this at the VV Chrismas party last year, at their office.

I can't remember if this is Dylan or Mike... we had so much courtesy Dom and Cristal that night it's hazy.

Another feature of the new system will be Facebook and Twitter logins, which will allow individuals to use the social media accounts on those two platforms to register to the forum.

Will still be able to use image hosting sites like Photobucket if we prefer?

The forum will be closed at 5PM today. We'll work to have everything back up and running as soon as we can but we do anticipate the closure to last several hours.

See you all on the other side :)

To all the staff at VV.

We'll meet again...
...don't know where don't know when
...but I know we'll meet again some sunny day.

Keep smiling through, just like you always do...
until VV is up and running, that we pray.

Mike, do you have enough pizza and coffee ready to get you through the long and arduous task of cycling dozens of floppies through the server?
