Imagine if we all needed eye injections to keep our jobs!
She does.
Why can't we get one flu shot that will protect us for the rest of our lives?
A. Many scientists are working on developing just such a "universal" vaccine for the influenza (flu) virus. Why do we need a new shot every year? The influenza virus, like every virus, contains a set of genes that are wrapped in a coat of protein. Vaccines typically stimulate the production of antibodies that attach to outer structures on the protein coat, disabling the virus; indeed, that's how the influenza vaccine works. Unfortunately, these outer structures are constantly changing, so a new vaccine is needed each year to target those structures on the flu viruses that are currently circulating. In recent years, scientists have found inner structures in the influenza virus protein coat that are the same in all strains of flu viruses. Universal vaccines that target those inner structures hold the promise of protecting against different types of influenza virus, eliminating the need for a new shot every year. Even more important than avoiding the hassle of an annual flu shot, a universal flu vaccine could be ready immediately and in large quantities — without the usual multi-month delay needed to create and produce a vaccine — when a deadly new pandemic flu virus emerges, as history says it will. I'm optimistic that remarkable scientific progress under way will give us a universal flu vaccine in the future.

Some information....
My name is Dr Anthony Fauci and I'm the director of the national institute of allergy and infectious diseases and the chief medical advisor to president Biden and I'm going to answer questions about the Johnson and Johnson vaccine
How does the vaccine work?
This is a vaccine that works and it only requires one dose.

Dec 12, 2021 Dr.Fauci
Three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine is the "optimal care" but two doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines or one of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine remains the U.S. government's official definition of fully vaccinated.
Health officials will continue to evaluate what should constitute the official designation.
"I mean, for official requirements, it's still two shots of the mRNA (Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna) and one shot of the J&J for the official determination of what's required or not. But I think if you look at the data, the more and more it becomes clear that if you want to be optimally protected you really should get a booster," he added.

In the Video Dr. Fauch was talking about the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine was initially and always was a one dose and effective vaccine.
Over time the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines that required a two dose shots for protection compared to the Johnson and Johnson one dose vaccine proved to be more effective in the real world setting so approval for the one dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine was withdrawn at the companies request. For optimum protection the protocol for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines plus booster was later recommended.
What Dr Fauch said about the Johnson and Johnson vaccine was correct. The Johnson and Johnson provided protection with a one dose vaccine.

We have established that a single shot of our COVID-19 vaccine generates strong and robust immune responses that are durable and persistent through eight months. With these new data, we also see that a booster dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine further increases antibody responses among study participants who had previously received our vaccine,” Dr. Mathai Mammen, global head of research and development for Janssen, said in a statement.

Proof of nothing other than they were dong trials to see the effects of a booster with their vaccine as was a sensible thing for the company to do especially since their vaccine in the real word was not as effective as the competition that required two dose for initial protection. They had established that their single shot vaccine as stated by Dr. Fauci, had proved to be effective durable and persistent through the eight months to date. They only said that their booster dose further increased antibody response .
As you might say .the booster comments are.....just marketing.
Your original post was an example of creating a misleading impressions just like you complain about the use of 95% efficacy..
Dr. Fauci comments were done within the context of comparison with the other vaccines that required two doses for initial good protection. He was correct only one dose of Johnson & Johnson was required for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine to generate strong and robust immune responses that are durable and persistent He was correct..

The “95% effective” in reality is actually statistically insignificant. The same statistic would be called rare if it was a side effect.
2 out of 10,000,000 is 100% more that 1 out of 10,000,000
Yes only one dose… every six months.
Haha.

Twist and turn and distract does not change the accuracy of his statement at the time he made it.
The end.
