Restrictions in some form can come back any time.  I'm avoiding most places now to avoid getting sick now that everyone is so Laissez-faire about everything now.

I think people wearing masks now are just putting off the inevitable.

It's probably best we all take on the virus head-on now.  Get through it, and come out stronger.

Those healthy people today with masks on now are weak people.  Just look at them, they are the shy, meek, and frail, for the most part.  Have you ever seen a strong, assertive male wearing a mask?  I have not.  I find it's mostly diminutive women.  It's really too bad we scared them to death.

Way too much conflicting “info” out there but there is some research saying the more often you are infected, the more complications you can have later on.

I don’t think getting infected and getting it “out of the way” is good advice.

Pfizer seems to think it’s a good idea to accelerate virus mutation (so they can make pre-emptive vaccines for non existent strains). This according to the latest Project veritas undercover recording from a pfizer exec. Interesting stuff.

Here’s the PV video. https://twitter.com/..._K8J3H7aKOh6mhw

Hopefully sebberry can explain why it’s totally normal and ethical for pfizer to mutate Covid strains. And also why the wuhan lab leak hypothesis is still a conspiracy even though this pfizer director seems to believe it. Hmm

Find me a reputable medical journal or publication that has debunked the many studies that has linked covid infection with serious cardiovascular complications.

In the meantime, I'm going to keep avoiding it.

Why don't we apply the same logic to HIV/AIDS? Just get it, and come out stronger.  Sounds like a Nike trademark.

Targets of Project Veritas include Planned Parenthood, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), NPR, CNN, and The Washington Post. In 2009, Project Veritas associates published misleading%5B2%5D videos that depicted ACORN employees providing advice on concealing illegal activity, causing ACORN to shut down after losing funding;%5B3%5D ACORN was cleared of wrongdoing by the Attorney General of California in 2010,%5B2%5D and the associates paid a total of $150,000 in settlements to an ACORN employee who sued for defamation.%5B2%5D NPR CEO Vivian Schiller resigned in 2013 after Project Veritas released a deceptively%5B2%5D%5B3%5D edited video portraying another NPR executive making controversial comments about the Tea Party movement and NPR's federal funding.%5B31%5D Project Veritas unsuccessfully attempted to mislead The Washington Post into publishing false information about the Roy Moore sexual misconduct allegations in 2017;%5B32%5D%5B19%5D the Post won a Pulitzer Prize after uncovering the operation.%5B7%5D%5B33%5D In 2022, a jury awarded $120,000 against Project Veritas for fraudulent misrepresentation concerning nonprofit Democracy Partners.%5B34%5D

As a non-governmental organization, Project Veritas is financed by conservative fund Donors Trust%5B2%5D (which provided over $6.6 million from 2011 to 2019)%5B19%5D%5B35%5D%5B36%5D and other supporters including the Donald J. Trump Foundation.%5B37%5D In 2020, The New York Times published an exposé detailing Project Veritas' use of spies recruited by Erik Prince, to infiltrate "Democratic congressional campaigns, labor organizations and other groups considered hostile to the Trump agenda". The Times piece notes O'Keefe's and Prince's close links to the Trump administration, and details contributions such as a $1 million transfer of funds from an undisclosed source to support their work. The findings were based in part on discovery documents in a case brought by the American Federation of Teachers, Michigan, which had been infiltrated by Project Veritas.%5B38%5D

In 2009, workers at offices of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) (a collection of autonomous community based organizations that advocated for low and moderate income families by working on neighborhood safety, voter registration, health care, affordable housing, and other social issues) were secretly recorded by conservative activists Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe.%5B1%5D%5B2%5D%5B3%5D%5B4%5D%5B5%5D%5B6%5D%5B7%5D

The videos were published on Andrew Breitbart's website BigGovernment from September through November 2009. They generated extensive, negative publicity for ACORN, and led to the United States Census Bureau and the IRS ending their contracts with ACORN, the U.S. Congress suspending its funding,%5B8%5D and ACORN losing most of its private funding. This was despite several alleged independent investigations that by December 2009 appeared to reveal that no criminal activity by ACORN staff had taken place.%5B7%5D%5B9%5D%5B10%5D%5B11%5D%5B12%5D%5B13%5D

Look into PV a little deeper. They’ve got a squeaky clean record of not “deceptively editing” videos and in fact have successfully sued many mainstream news organizations who claimed they do.

It pays to do your own research and not believe everything google and msnbc tells you.

Welcome to the Project Veritas 'Wall of Shame', a place where blue checkmark mainstream media "journalists" reputations go to die. The 'Wall of Shame' is the place where we post retractions that these "journalists" have had to print over the years about James O'Keefe or Project Veritas. To date, over 300 "journalists" just couldn't stick to the facts in their reporting and were forced to print the glorious retractions you see here. Enjoy!

texas' own great reset

Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday that his pandemic-era public health disaster declaration, which has given him unprecedented powers for the past 1,049 days, would stay in place until state legislators pass laws banning COVID-19-related restrictions on Texans and strengthening the state’s power at the border.

*snip*

After more than 93,000 deaths and 8.2 million COVID-19 cases in Texas in the 34 months since Abbott’s declaration was made, the state remains one of about half a dozen still under a statewide declared disaster or public health emergency.

Abbott’s office has maintained for months that it has no plans to join the ranks of those dropping the orders, releasing a statement in December that doing so “would allow local governments to once again enforce occupancy limits, mask mandates and vaccine mandates.”

“Gov. Abbott will not let any government trample Texans’ right to choose for themselves or their children whether they will wear masks, open their businesses or get vaccinated,” spokesperson Renae Eze said in a written statement.

Abbott also said Thursday he wants Texas lawmakers to enact a state version of a controversial Trump-era immigration declaration known as Title 42 that is currently locked in a court battle. It allows for the quick return of migrants at the border — even those seeking asylum — under the auspices of the federal public health emergency.

The practice is currently authorized in Texas under a separate Abbott executive order, which could be jeopardized if the disaster declaration is lifted. At least one bill, filed by Rep. Brian Harrison, R-Midlothian, would create a program like Title 42 in state law.

“Since [President] Biden is forcing America to live under a Public Health Emergency, Texas is 100% justified in using our public health authority to control who crosses our borders,” Harrison said in a tweet on Thursday.

*snip*

Abbott’s current public health disaster declaration has authorized him to make numerous executive orders that otherwise would not have been allowed without the additional powers the declaration brings.

Among them were changes to voting procedures, business closures and reopenings, and the two orders Abbott named on Thursday.

This is what happens when you get caught on Candid Camera.

As reported in an article by Western Standard’s Matthew Harwood, Project Veritas, known for its undercover investigations, interviewed Pfizer executive Jordon Trishton Walker, who claims his company is exploring a way to mutate COVID-19 via ‘directed evolution’ to preempt the development of future vaccines.

Walker told the Project Veritas reporter that directed evolution is different than gain-of-function, which is defined as “a mutation that confers new or enhanced activity on a protein.”

Mainstream media really going out of their way to avoid talking about this video. Guess that’s what happens when Pfizer is one of your biggest advertisers.

20M+ views on Twitter. YouTube removed it after 8M views without any explanation. Google searches don’t bring it up, or didn’t as of yesterday.

But yea, tell me more about how misinformation and disinformation works, MSM. Your silence is deafening.

more likely they're a sleazy fringe group that doesn't merit any response, similar to infowars? aaaanyway:

Another issue is that we do not have the full raw footage to assess whether the subject of the conversation changed or the terms it was couched in.

Newsweek has asked Project Veritas for this footage and a full transcript of the conversation and contacted Pfizer about the interviewee and details of any of the experiments described or inferred.

Whatever the authenticity of the video or the factuality of its content, some of the comments shared online in response to it are misleading characterizations of what it shows.

*snip*

In the Project Veritas video, the interviewee, who is quoted as a Pfizer employee, says there are ongoing discussions about engineering "mutations" of COVID so that preemptive vaccines, for variants that may occur in nature, could be developed.

However, the discussions are spoken about in theoretical terms.

While Project Veritas' James O'Keefe claims that the interviewee moves on to talk about these experiments as if they are ongoing, there is not enough information in the film to be certain whether he is talking about theoretical experiments or other preliminary research, or if these directly involve or are related to COVID.

At the time of writing, Pfizer is yet to comment on the Project Veritas video or the claims made within it.

Therefore, we currently rate the claims that Pfizer is mutating COVID as unverified.

I love how the woke left’s biggest enemy pre-COVID was “big pharma.” Now the progressive crowd has nothing but trust and love for big pharma. One of the most successful bamboozles of all time. “Trust the science” = trust pfizer apparently.

total bs, there were loads of people who from the moment the vaccines were developed thought the US government should waive the patent protections on COVID-19 vaccines to allow more affordable generic versions to be made, allowing them to be rolled out more quickly worldwide:

Former US presidents from both the Republican and the Democratic parties have staunchly defended intellectual-property rights, so the move by the administration of President Joe Biden has shocked people on both sides of the debate. “This marks a major shift in US policy in a pro-public-health way,” says Matthew Kavanagh, a global-health researcher at Georgetown University in Washington DC.

Kavanagh is part of the growing chorus of health-policy and global-health researchers advocating patent waivers, as the gap between vaccination rates in rich and poor nations grows larger every day. Fewer than 1% of people in low-income countries have received COVID-19 vaccines. The researchers are quick to note, however, that a waiver on patents covering all aspects of COVID-19 vaccines would be just the first step in ramping up vaccine supply.

*snip*

Drug companies aren’t the only opponents of the measure. In a 25 April interview with Sky News, global health philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates argued against intellectual-property waivers, saying that manufacturers of generics couldn’t ramp up production quickly, and that vaccine quality could be compromised. After the US government’s waiver announcement, the industry group Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America released a statement echoing these points, saying: “The Biden Administration has taken an unprecedented step that will undermine our global response to the pandemic and compromise safety.”

Proponents of the waiver disagree, pointing out that generics manufacturers have been supplying the world with high-quality vaccines and medicines for years. They point out that taxpayers helped to foot the bill for the development of several COVID-19 vaccines, and say that the claim that pharmaceutical companies must recoup all the costs is therefore unfair — especially during a crisis. Several other obstacles must be addressed, however, such as making sure distribution is equitable.

Cohen says: “These vaccines are an unparalleled triumph for science, but if only 20% or 30% of the world winds up benefiting, what is the point of the innovation?”
