Their work has totally softened my opinion of BC Hydro and their sometimes outrageous billing practices. Dead of night, harsh weather, in dangerous conditions, and getting the power back on in short order. there should be a channel on this.

The Bamfield Main Road will remain closed for the foreseeable future after engineers deemed a section of the route too dangerous to use following the Mount Underwood wildfire.
The B.C. government confirmed Saturday that it is providing technical support to Mosaic Forest Management, which manages part of the 76-kilometre road, as plans are developed to eventually reopen the route.
“There is substantial work necessary over the coming weeks and months ahead to reopen Bamfield Road,” said Transportation Minister Mike Farnworth in a statement.
“Ensuring the safety of the travelling public is the top priority, and the Province will continue to provide technical resources and support to Mosaic throughout this process.”

Still, with dangerous terrain lingering in the fire zone, officials say it could be weeks or months before Bamfield Road is safe to reopen.

This exact scenario can occur to any two lane highway on the Island, and render access unavailable. That’s what happened to Highway 4 two years ago after wildfire damaged a slope above the highway.

Lytton, B.C., is upholding its reputation as Canada’s hot spot, recording the highest temperature across the country so far this year amid an ongoing heat wave that is scorching much of the province.
Environment Canada figures show the mercury hit 41.3 C on Monday in the Fraser Canyon community, marking the hottest temperature of 2025 in Canada.
Lytton was among 16 areas of B.C. that set new daily maximum records for the same day, including Whistler, Pemberton, Kamloops, Kelowna and Cache Creek.

In 2021, Lytton set the record for Canada’s hottest temperature of 49.6 C. The next day, a fire destroyed most of the village.

Why do we spend so much money fighting fires in the middle of nowhere that nature always puts out in the winter?

I suppose every tree burned, is a tree that can't be cut down for profit.

The Mount Underwood fire east of Bamfield and south of Port Alberni remains under investigation.
A man from Nelson, B.C., has been sentenced to two years, less a day, in custody after lighting four separate fires in three locations around the city in the heat of the 2024 wildfire season.
David Travis, 45, was sentenced in October in a Nelson provincial courtroom, just over a year after being arrested for three counts of arson.

That's Altadena, not an affluent part of LA that burned down.
You can do streetview and see before and after. I'm sure something can be learned from where stands of houses were left OK.
