With the closing of the newsstand on Douglas at Cormorant several years ago (the shop was where the old Sally’s neon sign is), I can’t think of anywhere in town anymore where I can buy a foreign newspaper. Specifically, I’m looking for La Gazzetta dello Sport, an Italian sports daily printed on very distinctive pink newsprint. There’s a pullout poster in today’s edition of the national team that won the European championships on Sunday. Anyone have any leads for me? TIA

Used to be Chapters was good for foreign papers but now it's probably Bolen Books. Or Mayfair News in Vancouver; maybe they will ship you a copy.

in the past (80’s) those papers did have limited daily carrier delivery in the core.

A lot of these papers you can get the weekly or Sunday edition hard copy but not many retailers carry the daily foreign papers.

I'm just trying to imagine a scenario in this century and on this continent of a guy going out five days a week and buying the Italian sports daily. That's hardcore dedication on the part of the buyer and retailer.

You know what's funny, is Duran sounds super similar to the word moron in Polish.

It was a trip as a kid still grappling with the English language hearing Moron Moron's hits on the radio.

Ban the internet and wipe it from history like they did 1000+ years ago.
