Sorry! But that's the Game of Life. We end up on a Side Track, we experience Aggravation, we have Trouble. Maybe you thought this was a Trivial Pursuit? Get a Clue, this isn't Candy Land. Concentration, man! There will always be Risk, but you Can't Stop. My advice: don't always be looking out for numero Uno.

Maybe you should take a break and play some Carcassonne or something.

Did you buy a Ticket to Ride the wordplay game? You don’t have a Monopoly on all the fun.

I am not falling for your Mousetrap. Seems like you have something you want to get off your Chess. Luckily you don't have a Monopoly around here though you do seem to be quite the Mastermind. Anyways I don't want to be Axis and Allies but I do need to Go.

I'm not going to partake in this lame wordplay.

Quite frankly I think it's a bit Parcheesi.

Don't you think it's time to terminate this Operation?

Wow, I stick my neck out and try to give G-Man a bit of encouragement and the rest of you attack me like it's a game of Whack-a-Mole. Okay, you win. Checkmate.

We’re just dealing with public Squares here. It shouldn’t be as draining as a game of Plaza, should it?

It looks like Reliance + D'Ambrosio are planning a large plaza on the northwest corner of Store and Chatham streets. It will be bigger than the Caledonia plaza, but don't stone me if it isn't.

Why are these plazas so bad, again? Can someone articulate this for us?

...Why are these plazas so bad, again??...

Why are they needed? 90% of the time these spaces sit empty and lifeless.

The other 90% of the time they're full of people walking up to their residential towers, offices, grocery stores and retail spaces.

They are never vibrant and people can just as easily access buildings without these lifeless plazas.

It’s another one of those insurmountable Victoria challenges. Nevermind the 600 residences, a grocery store and offices all converging on a small plaza. Nobody will ever use it.

Ten years ago it was the height of buildings that was the worry. Who wants to live in a highrise? Who even wants highrises in their city? Today, the concerns have shifted. Nevermind the people living in the highrises they were never supposed to want to live in, they’ll never walk through and enjoy well designed, open, sun-filled urban spaces built for them by people who design and build them as part of their professional careers.

Check out the "lively" plaza in front of the Astoria and Belvedere some time.

Show one picture from over a decade ago, another one in the winter for good measure.

I agree, though, that’s not an ideal design (too big) with no draw for the public. This was 1980s and 1990s Victoria urbanism showing up in the early 00s as the first round of new urbanism. We’ve learned from that since then, at least I like to think so. Now if this were an entrance to Save On it’d be hopping busy.
