Construction of the bike park is now well underway! The Design/Build crew from Bike Track Ltd has started work on the pump track first and will move to other components as ground conditions allow.

We anticipate construction to take approximately 8-12 weeks to complete. Please note the schedule is dependent on issues such as weather and ground conditions and may be subject to change.

Background information on this project

The land is owned by BC Hydro and houses the George Tripp Hydro Substation which was originally built in the 1950s to service approximately 26,000 customers. Over the last few years the station has received $47 million in upgrades to meet current and future demands. Presently, one acre of the property at the north end is unused for hydro purposes and BC Hydro has agreed to allow the District of Saanich to use the site for the purposes of building a youth park. The license is renewable on a five year basis.

I didn’t know what a pump track was until today.

This is a great video to explain:

There is a neat kids level bike park with a mini pump track, kind of, at Goldstream campground, and a new bike park Langford Westhills: https://www.jordielu...nbikepark.com/

These are great. Looks to me this one is geared to ages 8+ or so.

Yeah, but is there on-street parking?
