The prospect of all B.C. residential areas being upzoned is important. Public engagement has been low. Since council members look here this forum can also provide some feedback.

An overwhelming 13-0 so far.

I voted yes, but realistically it’s impossible for anyone to be adequately informed about this in the time remaining before the election. And that includes the sponsors of the idea.

Sharing some thoughts on Missing Middle and why I believe it should wait to the next council before it is voted on. It seems there are a number of fundamental questions the city has not answered.

^ Thank you for sharing that with us Susan, and welcome to Vibrant Victoria. (It would appear that we missed welcoming you in October)
Good work on this missing middle topic.

In case someone stumbles across this thread later on, council ultimately voted to have the MMHI pushed to the future council. A public hearing that took two sessions for speakers, plus a deliberation thereafter, plus a fourth day to cast the final vote, sealed the initiative's fate.
The consensus among the public was that the vision was rushed, and too many questions about the initiative's impacts or ramifications could not be answered by city staff.
Know it all.
