It’s pushed significantly further ahead than you might park, plus it’s all dented and falling apart (light fixture etc.). Maybe it was rammed by the white van?

^^ Definitely rammed. Doubt we will ever see the security footage of the parking lot, but it should have caught most of the action.

Hard to believe the authorities don't know exactly who the dead perps are regardless of coroner, notification etc.

That would mean the car didn’t belong to them or anyone they know, they had no ID, they had never been arrested, nobody has reported them missing, they have never travelled or had biometrics taken, and they were on nobody’s radar.

I find that hard to believe. The only rationale explanation I can think of is that the police believe they have associates and think if they reveal the names they will tip them into thinking they are on to them.

Otherwise I was be as scared as get out that two people can acquire all that hardware and go on a shooting spree without any record or be on anyone’s radar. If so how can the cops be sure there aren’t many others out there as well?

on CTV Vancouverisland news just now they said they learned the 2 men are in their early 20s.  So, they must know who they are, or someone has contacted CTV with who they think they are.

With respect to the suspect vehicle – it is described as a white 1992 Toyota Camry – 4 doors with two black racing stripes over the hood and roof. If many / most of the GVERT were in that white van, it’s a bit hard to think that driving that van right into the parking lot was a good call. I think you’d normally unload/stage further from the potential action. Like out on Shelbourne.

If it turns out that van was shot up with many officers inside, that’s not good.

Saanich Police Chief Const. Dean Duthie was able to clarify, however, that officers encountered the two armed men as they were exiting the bank Tuesday.

He added that a white panel van parked at the scene, which is now riddled with bullet holes, was a police vehicle.

Meanwhile, Bérubé was able to describe what the suspects' vehicle looked like, and confirm that "improvised explosive devices" were found inside it.

Police have no idea who the robbers are and two new guys are at large but the cops know that the incidents are unrelated

Officers deployed to the downtown core for a report of 2 men, possibly carrying a firearm. We are looking to locate & speak w these 2 men. Pls call 911 if seen. No known risk to public safety at this time. May be related to suspicious person call in Saanich. #yyj
