Dinner on Sunday was the suggestion of a friend I was meeting up with, who really wanted fresh oysters. Typically I’d head to Ferris’ for that, but we pressed on.

No online reservations available, as they were sold out, but we were able to get a table with a phone call.

Arrived and were seated promptly, as the other part of the group had already arrived. Restaurant was maybe half full at the time, just before 6 pm.

Started with a couple of French 75’s and two dozen oysters, so far so good! Continued on with a Pilsner and the beef carpaccio, which was prepared a little differently than I am used to, but it was a smash hit. Superb, and I’d go back again just for that and the green onion pancakes it was served with.

My main was a 10oz New York, some roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts, which was just what I wanted. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned and hot. Everything was piping hot, which I appreciate. Others had a filet and lobster tail combo, seafood hot pot, some rolls from the sushi bar and crab cakes. All very well received! We had a place to get to, so skipped dessert, but next time I’ll have some for sure.

Service was excellent, attentive and funny without hovering.

Not on the “cheap” side but worth it for a night out. Total bill for my three folks was less than two harbour air tickets so we took the ferry home.
