That’s like 15 minutes. What’s the big deal.

No dilly dallying. Grab a cab or Uber.

BC Transit expands bus service to reach Hullo Ferries' Nanaimo terminal
Starting on January 7, BC Transit’s No. 25 Ferry Shuttle bus route will make three trips every day reaching the high-speed passenger ferry and Helijet terminal at the Port of Nanaimo through a rerouting of this existing bus service.

Yes, sounds good. Looks like it might have whacked something (wood etc.), that of course always being a danger in these waters. Each out-of-water repair like that can't be cheap. Wipes out lots of past revenue.

I took Hullo in the middle of January from Nanaimo to Vancouver. It was a grizzly day - mist, rain going sideways, and pretty lumpy. Worst part of the trip was the walk out of the terminal onto the ferry. Ferry bounced around a fair bit, but not alarmingly so. There was wifi available.
They should set up a terminal in Swartz Bay, going to Roberts Bank. I'd gladly pay the $40ish to have an express service rather than put up with the BS that BC Ferries is beginning to serve up..

While I'm still not sure Hullo will last, given the myriad attempts at this over the decades... that needs to survive long term I think before looking at Vic to Roberts Bank (or better, try get something that can go to Sea Island, maybe dock by the Sea Plane terminal?
I had the same thought. Instead of trying to deal with the province to get access to Swartz, just use the pier previously used for the Anacortes ferry. Convert the old waiting area to some parking, charge 10/day or something for that too. Not sure if thats Sidney owned or what.
The more problems BCF has, the more viable it becomes.
