Saanich presses pause on off-leash dog restrictions in parks

 

Controversial plan to require all pets to be on-leash in Saanich parks unless they are within a designated leash-optional area is on hold for two weeks

I think the general rule should be pets can be wherever their humans are outside, as long as they are on a leash.   Now, at some limited amount of parks away from beach areas they can go off-leash, but not at, say, playing fields and school fields.

 

The "problem" seems to be here that more and more Saanich residents want to be able to take their dog off-leash in most areas of all parks.  ie. the one they live closest to, regardless if that park is not suitable.
