I was at a small gathering last week, chatting with a fellow who is starting up an ai biz called Trovia. It was striking to me how adamant he was to keep all those systems out of his house, off his personal network, away from the kids, different ssid’s for everyone, no data stored in the USA, pay premium subscription fees to avoid all the data harvesting etc.

Normally I’d think this was just conspiracy theory stuff, but he is most definitely on the inside of this technology.

Sometimes these tech guys also play it up a bit.

Yeah sometimes. This guy is definitely an expert on the subject, not that I’m all that concerned about it.

Saw a clip from the Daily Show interviewing someone talking AI. Interesting on two fronts as he mentioned that it was another thing where the far right and the far left meet. That the tech should be nationalized. The part that interested me was the talk around public companies can only show growth using AI because they can reduce their workforce. Wall Street needs to see growth…. Uhg.
