Hi everyone,

I spoke with someone the other day who mentioned that there is a re-development of the Larsen building in the works. Does anyone know what/where this building is, and what is happening with it? I have tried to look it up online and haven't had any luck.

Thanks.

Could it have been the Lindholm Building at 724 Broughton?

That's being redeveloped.

Oh, that's it. I noticed that the other day. That'll be a nice addition to "Cook St. Village North" whatever it is.

It is a restaurant but that is all I know. It looks like underground parking with the depth they are going. Hopefully it will be 2 storeys at least. I think that area is referred to by the city as North Park Village.

This will be a Restaurant.
A new "Little thai place" from shelbourne and cedar hil cross area.
http://www.littlethaiplace.com/
it will have a basement, and there may be a suite on top sometime down the road, but not right now.

Great! The more we fix up North Park and Uptown, the better for everyone.

Highly recommended casual/ take-out Thai in this city.
If anybody's ever been to the Shelbourne location, you're in for a treat. There's another location opening soon in this unfortunate building, almost finished on Cook at Caledonia. I can only hope this setback is for patio purposes.

That stretch of Cook is particularly pedestrian friendly and lively. It doesn't need to be hyped up as a "village" or any such think-tank nick, it's just a great combination of retail, residential, auto and pedestrian traffic. We should be mimicking that little area all over the region.

...and that Thai place on Shelbourne is great.

OPEC, Over Pandora, east of Cook?

OK, I'll stop now.

the setback isn't only for patio, there is a bit of landscape area in there too, about 11' wide.
it would have more patio, but the number of seats is determined by parking.Being such a small lot, it only fits 5 cars, so only 25 seats.

Can we discuss the architecture here for a moment?

That roof... what exactly are they trying to portray here? From the front it *kinda looks like there is some thai reference, yet those cheap Cook Street Do-it Center shingles look completely out of place!

I really don't like it so-far, but another side of me wants to wait until it's finished to hold my judgment. Maybe it's traditional Thai architecture? Or a take on it?

It's traditional Thai like 947 Fort is traditional Bavarian:
