I was in the mood yesterday for a raunchy comedy, I was so hard up to find a new one ended up re-watching American Pie..
Don’t like fantasy. For cartoons usually just Simpsons(older episodes were better) and King of the Hill(sounds like king of the hill is going to reboot!)
I do like a good documentary(from a reputable source)

I have recently become addicted to "Bob's Burgers". It's a staple in my animation diet.

Adolescence is a British crime drama television miniseries created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham and directed by Philip Barantini. It centres on a 13-year-old schoolboy named Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) who is arrested for the murder of a girl in his school. Each of its four episodes was shot in one continuous take.

Some interesting stuff, some not all that insightful.
On the social media “look at me” front, that’s not going away. But I’ve stated in other threads we have to teach kids to use social media more wisely. Or be less concerned about what they see and read there.
I agree with the one part where the cop says “is there any learning going on there? It just looks like a big holding cage” referring to the school. I agree and have said we are doing school wrong.
On the likelihood of this kid being the perp. Well that went woke.

There is no way to teach kids to use it more wisely when their own parents and role models are leaving such nasty, hateful comments directed at strangers and themselves engaging in bullying.

Netflix has triumphed in the bidding war for Warner Bros. and HBO.
On Friday morning, Netflix said it has reached a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to buy the legendary TV and movie studio and assets like the HBO Max streaming service for $72 billion.
The announcement jolted Hollywood and jumbled expectations about the next steps for Warner Bros. Discovery, which is also the parent company of CNN.
Warner Bros. Discovery is moving forward with its plans to split into two publicly traded halves in 2026. Once the split takes effect, Netflix intends to acquire the Warner half. The other half, Discovery Global, will house CNN and other cable channels.

If Netflix folds all the HBO Max stuff right into Netflix, thats a lot of high quality material being added.

And a large movie catalog with whatever IP rights come along with that.

From a business perspective it would make more sense to maintain both subscription services and just cross promote movies.
I wonder if Netflix will become like Prime, where it will show you titles from other services (HBO), but you have to pay to access them.

If they collapse it into one service they lose money from me…

And a large price increase for a Netflix subscription.
Do you think Netflix is expensive now?
$16 to see one film in a theatre, or $15/mo. for unlimited viewing of about 4,300 movies and 2,300 TV shows on Netflix. With about 100 new titles added each month.
We used to pay $5 to rent a movie, requiring us to go to a store, and return it the next day.
I think we have it pretty good.
