It depends who you talk to. If someone’s business is doing well, they’ll tell you concern over the economic situation is an overreaction. If someone is living off an indexed pension, they’ll say the same thing.

Right now people are receiving financially crippling property taxation notices and the municipalities, staffed by people with very well paid municipal jobs, are completely indifferent towards the financial reality facing so many.

My community has catapulted municipal taxes by 65% since 2021.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday signed a proclamation to amend his ‌Sect. 232 national security tariffs on some aluminum, steel and copper imports, the White House said.

Effective June 8, tariffs on some steel and aluminum derivative products, including certain types of agricultural machinery and residential heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment, will be lowered from 25 per cent to 15 per cent.

The order says mobile industrial equipment, such as bulldozers and forklifts, ‌will be subject to a 15 per cent tariff "when imported from trade deal countries that are entitled to such treatment," the White House said in a statement.

Canada has given the U.S. and Mexico official notice that it wants the free trade deal between the three countries to be renewed.

In a letter to his American and Mexican counterparts, Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc said the country is seeking renewal of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) when it comes up for review on July 1.

LeBlanc is in Washington Tuesday for a meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, a member of U.S. President Donald Trump's cabinet.

Asked Wednesday about the upcoming review of Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement, the free trade deal between the three countries, U.S. President Donald Trump said, 'I’m not looking to renew it.'

He's not going to simply renew it in its current form, we all know that.

My understanding is that it runs for another 10 years as is if no renegotiating or renewal takes place.

Canada wants to extend it to 16 years.

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.
