Your tax $$$$ in action !!
“ Based on recent reports in March and April 2026, the federal government of Canada (Ottawa) has entered into a $200 million, 10-year lease agreement with Maritime Launch Services (MLS) for a space launch pad in Canso, Nova Scotia, known as Spaceport Nova Scotia.
Key details of this arrangement include:
The Land Deal: Maritime Launch Services leases the site land from the Province of Nova Scotia for a reported $13,500 per year.
The Federal Lease: MLS then turned around and signed a deal with the federal Department of National Defence to lease the launch pad for $20 million annually over 10 years.”

- https://www.politico...e-deal-00905837While the public fallout over the ad made headlines, it was finer policy details out of Ottawa — particularly around autos — that alarmed Detroit.
On Oct. 15, the day after Ford announced the anti-tariff ad, Canada’s industry minister wrote to Stellantis chief executive officer Antonio Filosa threatening to sue the company over its decision to move its Jeep production plant from Brampton, Ontario, to Belvidere, Illinois.
After the companies announced plans to cut jobs or scale back vehicle production in Ontario, Joly also threatened to claw back millions the government of Canada had doled out to Stellantis and GM.
…
On Oct. 23, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne and Joly reduced how many vehicles Stellantis and GM could import tariff-free, effectively raising their costs.
That evening, Trump abruptly halted “all trade negotiations” with Canada. While the president blamed the high-profile Reagan ad for the collapse in talks, one official familiar with talks between auto executives and White House officials, claimed the ad was largely “a pretext.”

The French company has pointed to a range of supplier problems, citing shortages that run the gamut from engines to wings.
"The jury's still out as to whether the Canadian product that Carney's so gushing about is able to be produced at a rate that is profitable for the manufacturers," said John Gradek, who teaches aviation management at McGill University.

In that article, Quebec basically provided Airbus with a major welfare cheque and it now says it’ll never get that money back.
Risks remain for government. Quebec, which now owns 25 per cent of Airbus Canada, has written off its initial $1-billion US investment in the CSeries as valueless. In October, it reduced by half the estimated value of a subsequent cash injection to $300 million US.
