So when I suggested that allowing an additional 200,000 refugees to enter Canada in each of the past two years without any thought to how we were going to house them as foolish, I was called racist!

If Ms Brett's parenting skills are on par with her public relations abilities, then I think her children are better with her absence.

She's never met a camera she didn't like.

Since March she’s been shuffling between several downtown Victoria shelters, and parking her car near where she was staying. While Boepple tried to be diligent in moving her vehicle, it wasn’t always possible.
“I’m almost 60 years old. I have three titanium joints and declining health, I just couldn’t move it all the time,” she said.
Soon she saw more and more parking tickets, believing she has more than 24 waiting to be paid.
“Now I’m on the tow list,” she said, adding that she’s not the only person facing these problems. One former bunk mate she had at the Sandy Merriman Women’s Shelter was educated as a registered nurse, but now lives in her car after facing more than $800 in parking tickets.
This prompted Boepple to write to the City and Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps asking for more changes. She suggested that the city offer specific parking spots outside of homeless shelters for the few patrons with vehicles, or otherwise develop some kind of parking pass system to ensure people aren’t ticketed. Boepple never heard back from the city.

not really sure what to say here.
seems she's not content with just free food and lodging she also wants free parking.
“I guess they could cancel my parking tickets and pat me on the head, but that’s not what I want,” she said. “I want change so that the few of us who are homeless and have a car don’t have to give them up.”

if she wants free parking... don't park downtown... there are many areas around this city that she could park, legally, for free, and not get ticketed or towed as long as her vehicle is insured, hell i saw a tent trailer set up for weeks on local Victoria streets occasionally with a power cord running from the building to the tent trailer

Yup...she's running things at Oppenheimer Park on the DTES.
Seventeen fires have occurred in the park since February and the city says police have responded to a growing number of violent incidents.
"The general manager's order was issued in response to ongoing concerns about the serious health and life safety risks present in the park, and in light of housing options being secured for those living there," the city statement says.
A team from BC Housing is in the park to help residents pack and move their belongings while the park board says longer-term storage options are available for campers unable to immediately move all their possessions to their new space.
