Should also delight the new residents of HP-1 having the recently homeless as neighbours.

Paul’s Drive-In was known in the 1950s for its car-hop service and a restaurant. Its 30-foot-tall plastic advertising sign was billed as the tallest of its kind, the hotel’s website says.
i guess that is pretty impressive if it was fabricated as one big piece of plastic with no seams.

On March 31 2019:
Victoria had 1357 homeless beds
Saanich: 97
Sooke: 25
Esquimalt: 11
Colwood: 1
Salt spring: 14
Everywhere else: 0
Since then, Victoria has added hundreds more. Why is our city council so obsessed with creating yet more homeless housing inVictoria? I’d say we have done our part.

As Lisa Helps stated at council, city staff have told her that the homeless are from Victoria. Why would other municipalities want to pay for what could be thousands of CoV homeless?

We might know a little more if the 'coalition' released the homeless survey info that they promised more than 2 months ago.

She also said raising the issues caused her to be labelled as intolerant. So she’s out. I would peg her age as being in the 30-45 age bracket, just based on her voice, but it’s tough to say.
She did raise the point that Helps won in the last election due to vote splitting and appeared to lay much of the blame for downtown’s erosion on the mayor.
CFAX repeats broadcasts at 7PM so you can tune in at around the 8:20 mark if you want to listen to that segment.

Downtown was already heading this way pre-Helps/TV but they've just accelerated the process.

I would peg that as the starting point for the transition period we are now seeing.

This might be true because of the insanity of council making Canada’s homeless a citizen of Victoria after 12 months .We all know homeless ,mentally ill and addicts would have no reason to lie .

A commentary by the president of Splashes Bath and Kitchen on Hillside Avenue, between Douglas and Blanshard streets.
Yesterday, an individual stumbled off the street into our retail store and, ignoring the repeated requests of our staff, pushed past our COVID-19 protocol barrier, located a display toilet, and relieved himself. A number two, not a number one.

The B.C. government’s purchase of Paul’s Motor Inn to provide temporary housing for people without homes could spell the end of Paul’s Diner by Fol Epi at the same location.
Owner Clif Leir said he’s still assessing the impact of the sale on his restaurant, which was forced to shut down in March due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“I fear this may be the nail in the coffin,” he said.
“We were just starting to work on a plan to re-open … and then finding out about this has been a real kick in the teeth.”
