Who cares? I wouldn't recognize him if he came to my front door, so his privacy is safe with me.

Melania Trump urges ABC to ‘take a stand’ after Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘widow’ joke
Kimmel joked Melania had the glow of an ‘expectant widow’ just days before the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting

That sort of comedy would get you cancelled in Nanaimo.

I don't watch Kimmel, but mocking thin-skinned public figures - public figures who themselves mock, humiliate, and verbally abuse dozens of other folks - is hardly a crime, especially when mocked as part of a performance by a comedian.
Kimmel's jokes (like them or hate them) remind us that Trump himself is a serial verbal abuser, and that what goes around - most definitely comes around.

Only if it was about our leader.

Joking about the death/assassination of a president is not good.
Pretty much on par with threatening the sovereign territory of allies.

Do we know the joke was about assassination?
Kimmel can no more predict the future than you or I can.
He had no premonition regarding an assassination attempt.
Perhaps he was joking about Trumps natural death - part of his long running string of jokes about Trumps rather unhealthy eating habits, consisting primarily of McDonalds hamburgers and Diet Cokes.
The above, combined with Trumps weight and age, have been productive fodder for lots of comedians since Trumps first term.

None of the talk shows joked about Swalwell, the California Democrat.

Hey, remember when Aaron Rodgers used his free speech to joke about Jimmy Kimmel and Epstein, and Kimmel threatened to sue?
https://www.louderwi...tm_medium=email
It sets the stage for Rodgers talking with Pat McAfee (who, apropos of nothing, is a more entertaining wrestler than Kyle Fletcher), and makes a joke about the following:
"[The Epstein List] is supposed to be coming out soon… There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel that are really hoping that doesn’t come out.”
Presumably a reference to Kimmel's close friend (allegedly), chef Adam Perry Lang, who served as Jeffrey Epstein's personal chef and claimed he was unaware of Epstein's depraved behavior, though he flew on Epstein's private jet and stayed in Epstein's home. Allegedly.
Free Speech champion Jimmy Kimmel threatened a lawsuit, claiming "soft-brained wackos like [Rodgers] can’t seem to distinguish from reality," and that his "reckless words" put Kimmel's "family in danger." Unlike the reckless words used by mainstream Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself), claiming Donald Trump is a fascist who is going to destroy Democracy and wants everyone dead, and there needs to be maximum warfare against him.

Kimmel has confirmed what I noted in my above post - that the joke was simply a reference to Trumps age vs. his wife's age.
The joke had nothing whatsoever to do with violence, or assassination rhetoric.
