Kilmeade is a blowhard, I admit. I would not mind if he got fired.
He does not have the sense of humour like Watters or Gutfeld.

Very interesting…. Perhaps too interesting ?
https://latenighter....er-for-nexstar/
“Nexstar Media Group is in the middle of a $6.2 billion merger with media company Tegna. Nexstar, which owns or partners with more than 200 television stations, would acquire about 65 more under the deal. The two companies entered into a definitive agreement for the merger last month, but it remains subject to regulatory approval from the FCC, currently chaired by Brendan Carr“
…
“ The FCC chairman then called for action from affiliate groups: “Frankly I think it’s past time that a lot of these licensed broadcasters themselves push back on Comcast and Disney, and say, ‘We are going to preempt—we are not going to run Kimmel anymore until you straighten this out,’” Carr said.”
…
“Roughly 30 minutes after Nexstar’s condemnation of Kimmel, the company confirmed that it plans to formally submit its application for FCC merger approval on September 30.“
…
“A corporate merger awaiting FCC approval also sat at the center of CBS’s unexpected cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert just two months ago to the day.”

Or maybe they just found a way to dump a money-losing show, like Colbert?
Other than Kimmel (who provided no numbers), I saw nobody suggesting Colbert's show wasn't losing tons of money each year.
In a quote above from Kimmel, he admits his show only has 1/5 of the watchers as it did a decade ago.
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! slipped 11% to 1.104 million viewers, which made it the third-most-watched show in September, after Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC, which saw a surprise 17% rise to 1.330 million viewers.
Earlier in 2025, however, Kimmel had shown strength in the key 18–49 demographic, as per the Nielsen data. In Q2, while Colbert led overall with 2.42 million viewers compared to Kimmel’s 1.77 million and Fallon’s 1.19 million, Jimmy Kimmel Live! topped the demo with 220,000 viewers—its best in a year.

A few people said in the summer, somebody has to take the first step. CBS did, and now maybe ABC is following.

^ Seems we should just have more NFL games to save network TV. 10 of the top-20 shows are football. And 8 of the top-10.

Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr suggested earlier Wednesday that his agency might pursue action against ABC affiliates who air Kimmel’s comments for not acting in the public interest.
“When you look at the conduct that has taken place by Jimmy Kimmel, it appears to be some of the sickest conduct possible,” Carr said to host Benny Johnson during an appearance on The Benny Show.
During his latest show, Kimmel claimed that the gunman who murdered Kirk last week was a member of the “MAGA gang” and mocked President Donald Trump for his response to the Kirk’s death.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” said Kimmel.
Carr said that Kimmel’s comments are part of a larger push among some in media to construct a false narrative around the 22-year-old who killed Kirk.
“In some quarters, there’s a very concerted effort to lie to the American people about the nature, as you indicated, of one of the most significant, newsworthy, public-interest acts that we’ve seen in a long time,” said Carr.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who has received updates from investigators probing the assassination, has said that the suspected shooter was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.” The suspect, a male, was living with his romantic partner at the time, a transgender-identifying male.
Trump predicted in July — after fellow late night host Stephen Colbert’s show was canceled — that Kimmel’s show was also soon to be canceled.
“The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone,” Trump said in a Truth Social post at the time.
Trump responded to the news that Kimmel had been suspended with another post to Truth Social saying, “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”

You've got to keep in mind also, that Kimmel's show was just cancelled. His is still with his family and enjoying the great wealth he has amassed. No physical harm has come to him.
His late night career wasn't bad for a guy who once ran what would today be considered the upmost toxic masculinity show on network television, before suddenly veering into a late night career where he became an arbiter of political correctness.
As the Vic Watcher saying goes, actors gonna act.
