Victoria ranked most anxious city in Canada according to new study

A new study has found that Victoria, known for its laid-back, seaside lifestyle, might not be as relaxed as many think.

In fact, the city has just been named the most anxious city in Canada.

The research, conducted by Compare the Market, looked at online search trends for anxiety-related terms in major Canadian cities.

It found that people in Victoria are searching for phrases like “work burnout” and “work stress” more than anyone else in the country.

Interesting results. I wonder if this is more reflective of the ‘woke victim’ mentality that is so prevalent here, than anything like true work stress.

Or maybe it’s because of our fractured municipalities, with all the cops and firefighters googling how to get on ptsd leave.

It’s reflective of people not being able to differentiate between the population count of the City of Victoria and the CRD.

Another example of titles seeking eyeballs.

A disclaimer from the company.

The limitations of the “study” are pretty obvious if you read the article. They looked at Google search trends for work burnout related terms across Canada.

Still, kind of interesting that Victoria is googling work burnout more than other cities in Canada. Could it be related to COL? Or is it just our weak minded woke population who is especially averse to hard work. Hard to know.

Again, they miscalculated the population of Victoria. This is why Victoria ends up on so many of these lists.

Maybe it's just a factor of high women numbers around here.

Women (22.7%) were more likely than men (19.7%) to experience high or very high levels of work-related stress.

Could also be that women are much more likely to seek help or relief, even if it's just by typing it into the internet.

Belief in political narratives in general = chronic fear and anxiety. It's an intellectual and spiritual poison that affects a huge portion of the world's population. But methinks it's especially traumatizing in communities or environments where politics tends to get exalted beyond the level of mere dark religion to become an oppressive and ever-present nightmarish social and mental tyranny. Victoria, Ottawa, DC, university campuses, etc.

Remember back in the day when you could celebrate beautiful weather without receiving an argument full of junk-science data and eugenics theory?

Remember back in the day when you could sit down to Thanksgiving dinner or any kind of social gathering without a ****ing politician's stupid name being the first word anyone speaks?

It's a massive divide between those who want to occupy the real here-and-now and those who want to occupy the grand delusion.

So many relationships in recent years have been shattered because of this addiction to the absurd. It really is like a drug. Genuine sincere engagement between individuals has taken a huge hit.

In recent weeks I've made a tentative return to some sports message boards because of the Blue Jays. Crikey, political bull**** everywhere. It contaminates everything. Talk about the effin' subject at hand, you demons.

A Canadian flag sticker on your car three years ago implied you were a Conservative, gun-toting, bigoted anti-Canadian.

Today, you’re a Conservative, gun-toting, bigoted anti-Canadian for not having that sticker on your bumper.

Is that what you’re talking about?
