If you're looking for a new twist on a traditional Easter egg hunt, a new family tradition is taking shape on the shores of Oak Bay this spring.

Member-owned Peninsula Co-op is launching its inaugural Easter Festival at Willows Beach Park, a free elevated community celebration designed to bring families together, featuring the debut of the Golden Egg Hunt and the chance to win free groceries for a year.

The festivities take place on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with live music, roaming entertainment and family activities, along with four timed Golden Egg Hunts organized by age group.

Easter is the most important of holidays for most Christians.

But all the media is focused on, is chocolate.

Know it all.

Well, special events. Churchgoers probably already know the plans. I noticed a lot of carrot themed Easter stuff in the stores. Is that a new thing? I don’t recall that association previously.

Probably because chocolate is so expensive now. The mid sized Lindt bunnies are $12 here. Plastic carrots are still cheap.

The price of cocoa has crashed. No reduction in chocolate prices.
