Since this development was shelved, the various buildings have each been resuscitated and there are a number of people working and living here from different walks of life. People gather and visit in the yard (as do a number of large deer). One of the larger homes facing Burdett has been hosting families that (I assume) are newly arriving to Canada. In the main building of Mount St. Angela, there is a fair amount of activity, with housing for (and again I am assuming) marginalized, challenged, and other people.

It’s an interesting comparison to 931 McClure, where Aryze emptied out a building that was housing for three, maybe four families, let it sit empty for a while, tore it down, then cancelled their development plans, leaving a empty lot behind a big orange fence. Perhaps Aryze might consider a “third space” approach - a pocket park, community garden, that sort of thing. It's been disappointing to see them remove affordable housing from this neighbourhood.

The Mt. Saint Angela project was canceled? Maybe it’s just postponed?

It was a neat design.

Both projects are now listed as "archived."

Oh I see. As in the CoV archived them? That would mean the proposal was approved and the application documents have been archived. Is that what you mean?

That was a nice-looking house they tore down. Used to walk by it all the time, seemed to have several suites for sure, and a lovely garden.

Ah, I see where you're going on this. To be clear, The Mount St. Angela's project may not be shelved indefinitely (I have no idea what their plans are, perhaps it's something you might be able to look into?) but definitely the development is shelved for now – postponed – since a fair amount of updating was done to all the buildings, each now operating, accommodating a fair amount of people. The main point I was making is the stark contrast between responsible way the folks developing Mount St. Angelas have treated their "in the meantime" situation, and the vacant, sad empty lot across McClure St. from them: an irresponsible situation by Aryze that has done nothing but reduce three or four units of affordable housing in my neighbourhood.

Aha! Thank you. I seem to recall there may even be a relocation of the houses on the property, and within the property to accommodate the new-build.

I know I saw something somewhere on VV that this site was for sale again but thought I would post it under this thread.  Here is the link to CBRE's page advertising it.

Land for Sale, Mount St. Angela, 913 & 929 Burdett Avenue, & 914 McClure Street, V8V 3G6 - CBRE Commercial
