^ Unfortunately there won't be any info on the Dev Tracker, as DP without variances are not uploaded. Not sure what the reasoning is, but c'est la vie!

No idea what the most up to date proposal looks like, but here's the public info package from September 2019: http://www.brookpoon...oards-web-1.pdf

I love the variation in heights.

It's unfortunately very subtle: 13, 14, and 16 storeys (nearest to farthest in the above image). Hopefully Parcels 2 (corner of Tyee and Esquimalt) and 7 (where the new presentation centre is) get good landmark buildings, but I won't hold my breath.

.Essentially the same height with the slope of the land. I wonder how it compares to the original Dockside plan.

Jackerbie's clip from the document is looking SE, this clip is looking NE.  l didn't know this proposal also included the leveling of Saghalie Park, The Edge, and the Tyee Co-op to create a level wide-open green space - and they have people walking through it.

I know, I know, these types of renderings are designed to show how beautiful these buildings are from top to bottom, albeit in an idyllic virtual space.  Still, we see the existing Balance building to the north with the correct size and perspective.  It's just the foreground of the surrounding area is fantasy.  The buildings themselves do look nice though.

And the always amazing Google 3D view.  It's approximately the same angle but not the same height.  This is as low as you can go.  The southern most tower will extend to about where the green fence extends into the property at the Dockside Green trailer parking lot.

Yeah, I've submitted a couple of bug reports to the dev team there to report this issue - no response, but it appears to be faulty based on the auto-responders I've had from council telling me where to find out latest dev details.

This is going to COTW on Feb 27 (for dev permit).

New plans were submitted to the city on Jan 20. Plans call for 13 & 14 storey condo towers with a total of 219 units and a separate 16 storey market rental tower with an additional 149 units.

There's nothing bad about this proposal, but nothing special either.

I would argue that the fact there is nothing bad about it MAKES it special.

Is that how much we've lowered the bar?

Can we agree that it's especially not bad?

Dude, height restrictions. It had to be lowered.

Perhaps because it was one of my favourite childhood movies, I feel like there's a bit of Logan's Run* influence in the design for the former BC Place site in Vancouver.

* totally off topic, but why has there never been a remake of this fab film?

I was looking forward to this project when the renderings came out Jan 14th but now it lost it's luster. At least they are making Dockside Green even more green lol.

I look forward to a time when a rendering of the Madrona phase of DG will stop being the leading image of this thread.
