Making up for lost time?

It'll be great to see this finally finished; after the trains stopped running and all the associated infrastructure was torn up I remember what a "post industrial apocalypse" blight those lands were. Damned ugly to look at as any picture of the area from about 1970 on clearly shows. Even worse as it sits astride the harbour it was there for one and all to see in all its wind swept, rusted out and garbage glory.

It looked like there was some progress in the sales centre up by Top Soil. New vinyl wrap signage on the windows etc. Could be opening soon.

At some point this development is going to have a conflict with the shipyard. In the last year there has been a significant increase in the number of (Navy) ships being hauled in. The usual process is to power wash the hull, often for weeks at a time. It is not unusual for them to do this on Saturdays and even the occasional Sunday. Most of the work is done at the south end of the shipyard, which is the direction the new development is heading.

I'm a big supporter of the shipyard but this will be akin to the float plane complaints, except that this noise continues for much longer periods.

You are probably right, but such concerns should be given the same consideration as those from people who choose to live adjacent to an existing airport or other "noisy" establishment and then complain. That is to say, zero.

Yes, it’s coming soon.

Ahhh cool. Will it be for sales or rentals?

Both. But the third tower will be decided on depending on market conditions, is my understanding.

That doesn't seem to affect either rental or real estate prices in the area. People still want to live along Tyee and Harbour, and I don't think they overlook the fact the area is called "Dockside".

Yes they're really truckin' pardon the expression on this; drive by every morning to drop Mrs ASE at her office d/t. It's quite impressive actually how quickly this is moving along now that its been set in motion. Which makes the contrast with Songhees - which is a virtual crickets convention - all the more stark. Nothing happening literally just around the corner on that one.

Ah. That’s why it was closed today.

There was also a large mobile crane on Johnson but I couldn’t tell which block (700-900 I think).

The nasty wind chill must be very unpleasant for doing the final crane installation work. There are three workers just above the cab.

I don’t see this on their website, but I keep seeing these ads on my Instagram. Have we seen these before? Looking good to me.

>$800 a foot would be my guess. This Bosa is typically a lot more $ than the other Bosa.
