I guess we don't have much to complain about in downtown Victoria.

Thanks for the photos, ressen.

Looking towards the East at Kislingbury Ln. Probably not the best camping spot for your RV

This is looking West at the Thetis Lk overpass near the end of Burnside Rd.

I love train tracks that are in fine condition, but slightly over-grown with plants so that almost all you see are two rails amongst some grass.

They were working on the tracks recently and It looks like they are getting ready to build a level crossing at Peatt rd. too. On a recent walk along the tracks between Langford lake
and the West hills development it was clear that a lot of work needs to be done to the tracks as there was obvious signs of major rot in many of the ties.

Who is doing this rail work? Is it merely status quo replacement or are they starting to build the rail to a higher standard (albeit in a patchwork manner). I wonder at the latter because this is exactly what Caltrain is doing south of SF towards Silicon Valley.

E&N freight train in the siding at Langford. Shortly before the ICF/SRY takeover.

Dayliner at Langford on a typical winter morning.

The popular train that takes passengers from Port Alberni to the historic McLean Mill will not be operating this year.

At a special meeting Tuesday night, council made the tough decision to not fund the train for the 2019 season, making it the first time the city has shut it down.

It would have cost the city a proposed $192,500 to operate this year, which works out to $4,200 per run.

i had no idea there was a train.
