Three Point Properties started preliminary work on the reno of the old Sawyer Sewing building at 840 Fort but work has since stopped (what's the hold up all about?).

I think this might be a new rendition as there are more units apparent in this drawing as the old one was just five buts this seems more like seven or so.

It has a whole new look!

I am told this project is still alive but in a slightly different form--more like the Dragon Alley condos in Chinatown.

Yes, that's a surprising twist, IMO. This 'alley' will dead-end, though, correct? That makes it trickier to animate. Interesting idea though -- hope we see it actualized ...soon.

Yes, it would be a dead end, but the property is up against the parking lot of the Chelsea apartment's surface parking lot, so it could conceivably cut through to View St. some time in the future.

Do you mean they would be going for Live/Work zoning with potential shops along the bottom? I see that being an utter failure unless they call it an Antique Mall.

The rear of this property has now been excavated to some extent. Perhaps the soil is contaminated and they need to air out what's left?

This is not officially dead but if the six-storey wood construction is approved we will probably see it revived with a different concept than the one depicted above.

EDIT: I see the links are broken to the old images but I don't know if there are any other copies floating around.

It looks nice but I am concerned that someone is already considering jumping off it.

It looks like they are going to be housekeeping rooms (note the gaggle of French maids gathered at the servants' entrance to the left) frequented by the likes of John Travolta, who looks like he left his paint cans up the street at the OB Home Hardware.

I'll be darned. It is Travolta.

I think this may be one of those cases where it was worth waiting for the new project as this is far better than the original proposal.

I bet there's a huge nasty blank wall on the east side of that building.
