Thump...thump... thump...thump.
It's been going on all day and even though we live 3 km away from Rock Bay that pile driver is driving us sane.
I mean how's one to get a nap with that going on, especially if you're in your downtown office.
So if there is one project the Feds need to cancel...this is the one.
Anyone else?

I think it has been going on for a couple of weeks now. At first I thought it might be coming from the shipyard but thankfully after breaking out the Sony 50x I found the culprit and it's not the shipyard. As Bingo points out it's a pile driver, probably on old-school diesel hammer, on the Rocky Bay cleanup site. It's looks at least 2x the distance and given how loud it can be and sound energy's inverse square law I can't imagine what this sounds like close up.
From my perspective it appears they are constructing some kind of isolation wall or cofferdam near that old brick building.

You think you've got it bad in 3km away? Try having an office one block over.

The superyacht Tamsen, a 52 meter long superyacht sailboat has arrived at the Inner Harbour. It is owned by the Firestone family (yeah, that one) and was built at a cost well in excess of $30 million US. The shipbuilder responsible for the vessel, Perini Navi, charges approximately $625,000 per meter depending on the level of customization requested by the owner.
Know it all.

...the five-cabin area alone totals 128 square meters (1,378 square feet), with another 111 square meters (1,195 square feet) devoted to the saloon and wheelhouse.
Sfa's ideas for the Tamsen's interior were shaped in close collaboration with FFF members, who include John Zamir, the ship's captain – who was just 6 when he joined the Vitava's circumnavigation crew, and Julie Lubin, once the Vitava's youngest crew member and now the chief financial consultant for all the Firestone family businesses.

Yup, $30 million.
It's amazing what an extra zero can do to the value of a yacht or a person's paycheck.

Anybody know what's going on here? I'm sure all the boats and homes did not put out to sea at once, for a day trip.
