Its been reported on a few websites of course whether its true or not is another story. It's the web after all so it wouldn't shock me if not true; OTOH as I was in Texas at the time on business we went to see them in Dallas in 2007 on the Snakes and Arrows tour. They were outstanding of course but Geddy's vocals while generally good for his age at the time, were clearly straining at certain points while performing some of their earlier material.

The Fate of Ophelia, a new Taylor Swift song, is quite good IMO.
The video is good too.

Cleveland is where a local radio station really broke Rush in the United States for the very first time.
Geddy and Alex are long time friends with the lady who was the Program Manager of that station. She’s the lady who introduces them in the interview linked above.
Oh yeah, so like an homage.
That’s pretty cool.
Know it all.

The Fate of Ophelia, a new Taylor Swift song, is quite good IMO.
Taylor Swift has broken yet another record with her new album “The Life of a Showgirl,” this time with lead single “The Fate of Ophelia,” which has surpassed Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” for most streams in a single week on Spotify.
Cyrus previously broke the record in January 2024, racking up 101,838,799 streams in its opening seven-day period. “Flowers” also became the first song to reach the 100 million point faster than any other song ever has on the platform. The previous record-holder on Spotify was BTS’ “Butter,” which racked up 99.37 million streams in its first seven days before hitting the 100 million mark on its eighth day.

It's a good song, but Flowers is pretty amazing too.

Saw that show in London last June. Good music, didn't like the story although I guess it was mostly true.

Seventeen million streams in two months. A multimillion-dollar record deal. A Billboard-charting single. These are the kinds of stats that typically belong to breakout human stars. But today they belong to Xania Monet — an AI-powered R&B singer who doesn’t exist in human form.
Monet was created by 31-year-old Mississippi native, poet, and design studio owner Talisha Jones, using Suno, a ChatGPT of sorts for songwriters, allowing her to transform her lyrics into music.
Monet’s breakout single, “How Was I Supposed to Know?”, has climbed into Billboard’s R&B Digital Song sales top 10 and reached No. 22 on the overall Digital Song sales chart. And her five-song catalog has generated an estimated $52,000 in revenue to date.

That is the biggest first week in modern music history according to Luminate, the industry data and analytics company that began tracking sales in 1991.
Swift broke the record set by Adele's 25, which sold 3.378 million copies in its first week in 2015 in the U.S.

Forty years after revolutionizing how we consume music on television, MTV is pulling the plug on five of its longstanding music channels, leaving only its reality-driven flagship to carry on. But this move isn’t just about programming cuts. It signals a deeper transformation in how audiences discover, experience, and monetize music today. Keep reading to find out what’s really behind MTV’s retreat from music and whether this marks the end of a broadcast era or simply its next chapter.

Was considering buying tix for the Rush concert in YVR next year but have to admit the prices are a little eye watering. I know I'm not seeing them for $32.75 like the last time I saw them on the Presto tour in 1990, OTOH nearly $500 for nosebleeds in a corner seat in GM Place gives me pause. While some people online as expected are upset they are touring again since Neil passed away, they are actually getting much more grief over ticket prices. One fan cleverly amended one of their big hits to summarize his feelings: "...they should call it The Big Money (Grab) tour".

Can't blame them, that is what popular acts are charging these days. Probably wouldn't work if they were doing a 50 city tour but a limited engagement will draw fans even though they 'retired' years ago.
IIRC, Geddy said something along the lines of wanting to "retire before they sucked". We will see.

There was a rumor in addition to a new drummer they were thinking of drafting a new singer to handle the vocals on this tour - lets face it's a stretch for Geddy to reach some of the high notes especially from their early material - so that he could focus exclusively on the bass, but that seems not to be the case.
