Dan Mangan is coming back to play a show at the Fulford Hall on January 20th. Last time he blew the roof off the place. Mark LeCorre will be doing sound again. Promises to be an evening of excellent music.

I swear, every concert Matt attends at Fulford Hall has the roof blown off. I’m starting to think there’s something wrong with that roof.

Fulford hall is a lovely old wooden community hall with excellent acocustics, and more often than not the gentleman doing the sound has toured with headline acts around the world doing sound engineering for 30 years. This isn’t Sugar nightclub.

Last time Dan Mangan played, for his final song he found the sweet spot in the middle of the room, stood on a chair and belted one out. It was a pretty amazing live music experience.

I've secured a private box for Hedley next month.

 

You know what, Hedley has been at the arena 4 times already in the past.

 

2016, 2014, 2012, and 2010.  That might be an arena record.

 

These guys just have not been lucky enough to break out of Canada.  And I dare say have benefited greatly from CanCon radio rules.

These guys just have not been lucky enough to break out of Canada.  And I dare say have benefited greatly from CanCon radio rules.

 

I think that in general this has been the case at SOFMC. Acts are recycled as many times as possible. 

 

I am surprised that RG can keep selling corporate boxes at the prices they do. Other than hockey, there are only a small handful of new events each year.

$1100 for 12 of us in a private box, yes. I did pay a premium. It was worth it, 6 of the peeps were teenagers.
