This morning I noticed that Sugar Nightclub on Yates Street had a new awning/name:  Capital Ballroom.  I'm not sure if the name change also indicates a change in the way the business operates?  I understand that new ownership came in a while back per media reports...

The club was purchased by Atomique last year.

There's been some interior signage up reflecting Capital Ballroom for about a month.

Atomique keeps it pretty busy with live shows.

It's the best only good, reasonably sized indoor live music venue in Victoria where you can buy drinks.

Just wait until the new 600-seat live casino space opens in View Royal.  To compete with the hardly-used 800-seat McPherson.

With the added bonus of being able to stand and move about and dance. Not a huge fan of the venue, but it's unique in Victoria.

I feel like they're trying to make it the Commodore ballroom in Van,  which I love the thought of. Just the venue isn't great for that.
