Just a handful and [the Hells Angels] were in some charity entry.

What charity? This is unacceptable. What next, the Wife Beaters Association float?

This quote from a cop made me think of all the people posting supportive comments about the Langford clubhouse:

“They watch their ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and their little television shows. These guys all seem likable enough: that they are misunderstood, outlaws from the old days, and they ride motorcycles instead of horses,” he said. “Even cops think, ‘Oh they are just tattooed long haired guys who like to ride motorcycles.’ And the reality of it is they are long-haired tattooed guys who ride motorcycles and sell a hell of a lot of methamphetamine and murder people and steal motorcycles and extort people and beat people up in bars for no reasons.”

Nobody wants to say what they really think on Facebook, and certainly not the hoards of guys who want to emulate the tough guy personas on the weekends.

Smaller cities tend to have large groups of people all emulating a few fashion and life styles, and for whatever reason riding a bike and/or looking like a biker and/or MMA guy is "the thing" on the westshore.

^That's from a Washington Post article on the Waco shootings. It's also quoted in this Slate article:

The "charity" that hosted the biker should be banned from future events.

Can we confirm the charity or the organization that hosted them?

I don't know why CHEK does not film opposite city hall.

They used to didn't they?

Turned on some of the broadcast and was appalled looking at the view from the crane or whatever high-mounted camera they were using. My wife said the pathetic roadway covered in so many patches  made it look like Victoria is a sad little town that cannot keep the roads in good order. I agree with her that the broadcast does nothing to promote Victoria.

^There doesn't seem to be a list of entrants on the festivals website. Was it printed in the TC perhaps?

Thanks for sourcing the quote I posted, Rob. I failed to note that I got it from Slate.

At this point it might be quicker/easier to develop all of the lousy lots between Hillside and Bay than it would be to convince CHEK to shoot in a different location.

How about the deck on the Bay Centre? Too high?

^ The deck at the Bay Centre is a terrific idea Aastra. They would also have cameras at street level, and they might also get some great angles from the Bay Centre deck.

Don't be so sure.

I noticed this morning, the City still had not removed some of their street barriers at several Douglas intersections.  They were off to the side, awaiting pick-up.

I take mine with a side of gluten.

Timing it like this is going to upset a lot of people.  Hopefully it'll result in a loss of support.
