Why is a 17 year-old on a carpet-slide ride?
I mean, as an adult, I would like to go on a carpet slide ride.

"Central Saanich police opened 28 files from from Saturday to Monday, with nine of the incidents happening at the Saanich Fairgrounds on Stellys Cross Road.
Among them was a call for a man in medical distress who later died. The B.C. Coroner’s service is investigating the death"

UVIC enforcing the vaccine card mandate starting next week? I can tell by looking at photos how well they are enforcing the mask mandate.
I have not yet seen someone NOT wearing a mask indoors at UVic. There are no mask requirements for outdoors.

Being a Saskatchewan girl the wife is a major animal fan so yet again I'm getting dragged out there on Saturday morning to see horses, llama's, chickens, pigs and whatever other critters they have on hand. Can't wait to experience all that parking chaos for the umpteenth time! Tried to bribe the kidlin' into taking my place but she was way too smart to fall for it. Siiiiigh. I'll go hang out with the guys running the Shriner's display/table I guess, lol.

Hang out with your local politicians for a few hours. Always stimulating.
Depending on the politician its likely I could have a more intelligent discourse with the llama's......

Organizers are expecting record-setting attendance when the 154th edition of the Saanich Fair gets underway this weekend. Upwards of 55,000 people are expected to converge on the fairground in Saanichton for the oldest and largest agricultural event of its kind on Vancouver Island.
“We’re expecting a very large crowd this year, definitely more than normal,” said fair committee chair Jenna Saunders of the North & South Saanich Agricultural Society. She said the fair typically attracts 45,000 to 50,000 people.

Maaaaan.....I'm being dragged out there tomorrow morning by the missus, don't post this stuff...ugh. I've actually enjoyed the many visits over the years especially when the kidlin was younger and it was 'family time', and which was inevitable being married to an animal lover who grew up in the prairies attending fairs like this one; but the SF 'parking lot follies' have never ever been a highlight of those experiences. I expect tomorrow will be a proverbial gong show.

Not do-able tomorrow; meeting friends in Sidney afterward then have to scoot back into town to p/u my vehicle which goes in for servicing first thing tomorrow morning. If we get there early enough I'll park close to one of the exits to ensure closer egress, lol.

So they're expecting up to 60,000 people this weekend - I think they all showed up this morning...crikey!
I must say the parking experience was excellent this time out and much better organised than in 2019 the last time we attended. At that time it was a complete s*** show. Getting in and out today was a breeze. We got there early at opening and hung out until about 11:30. Easy peasy. But all roads leading to the site were jammed. The neighbours must really hate SF labour day weekends, lol.
