spotify wokesters must be pulling their hair out.

So far Spotify is standing their ground. The real problem for the Big Tech companies is not their own users and subscribers. The issue lies with their own employees, many of which are wealthy, privledged, and pampered 20 and 30 somethings who believe that their view of the world is better than everyone else's. Internally they form protest groups to try and drive corporate policy in the direction they feel benefits them and the groups they claim to represent. Some companies like Google have decided that these groups are not representative of broader society and have grown tired of confidential information leaks and political campaigning within their ranks and have terminated the troublemakers for breach of contract. Others like Facebook and Twitter try to keep everyone happy for fear of upsetting small but very vocal SIGs.

Spotify declines to remove Joe Rogan podcast with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones

'Alex, hold on': Rogan pushed back at Jones when he claimed that children injected with a type of polio vaccine were sickened with the disease

Streisand effect, sure. That's why Rogan should be ashamed. Jones should be ostracized for the Sandy Hook garbage if nothing else. He does not deserve a platform, period.

Imagine being a Sandy Hook parent and here's Rogan giving him the kid glove treatment, "oh, Alex you're so naughty sometimes". What human garbage both of them are.

Again, I'm not going to change your mind--the empathy thing--but that's what it is.

Welcome back to the podcast, we're talking with Josef Goebbels who's gonna give us some great pumpkin dessert recipes for Halloween but first, Josef, gotta ask you, the thing with the Jews, a lotta people are saying--

Look Joe, there are always going to be people that dwell on the most controversial aspect of your personality and won't let go. This is old news, there are literally thousands of books about it, do we really need to dredge it up more?

True, but I gotta put it out there you said some nasty stuff and it's OK that people, you know, they express their concern. But I'm glad we got that out of the way. Now Josef, pumpkin pie versus cupcakes, where do you stand?

Joe Rogan’s podcast offers a vital canvas for new perspectives and critical thought

This past Friday, Joe Rogan treated his audience to a three-hour long conversation with Kanye West, one of the most prolific and heterodox visionaries of our time. In a sense, it was the quintessential Joe Rogan podcast – filled with priceless insights, words of wisdom and riveting, long-winded tangents about life, mental health and creative pursuits. In one memorable exchange, Rogan asked Kanye why so many think the musician is insane, to which he replied: “When I talk, it’s not a rant, it’s a symphony of ideas.”

Rather than giving definitive answers on how to live – to be God-believing or atheistic, vegan or meat-eating, liberal or conservative – Rogan’s prominent podcast is a canvas for exploring all perspectives of life. Whether it’s Elon Musk teasing his next, paradigm-shifting invention, Lex Fridman exploring the evolution of artificial intelligence, Whitney Cummings discussing relationships and dating, Bridget Phetasy describing her journey of overcoming debilitating hypochondria or Tim Dillon sharing his research in political science, Rogan engages with a diverse range of ideas and topics. And after joining streaming service Spotify in September with a reportedly $100-million deal, his audience has continued to expand and grow. On Thursday, the company said The Joe Rogan Experience is now the No. 1 show in its English-speaking markets and has “outperformed our audience expectations.”

The worst C-FAX did was the anti-vaxxer stuff. I didn't like them amplifying it because it's disinformation and can be harmful if enough people take it seriously and stop vaccinating their kids. C-FAX's financial snake oil salesmen, that's more buyer beware but still a bad move. Kanye talking about space aliens, bring it on, that's all good. Although some think giving Kanye a platform is exploitive--making his mental health episodes a circus act for our amusement.

I don't have so much a problem with Alex Jones as I do with Rogan's chickensh!t normalizing and soft-pedaling that crap. Sandy Hook was the line in the sand.

I was pointing out how extreme views get laundered into the mainstream. I think you're trying to express your displeasure by using a "hip" phrase you don't quite understand the meaning of so you might want to try again with normal words.

Exactly what I said. Hard to tell what the employees are upset about though. Are they upset that Rogan and his guests are right wing and thus an antithesis to everything they live for and believe in, or are they upset that millions of people seem to have flocked to Joe making it the most successful podcast on Spotify and far in excess of expectations?

Is your argument so weak you have to make stuff up? No informed person thinks that. None. Zero.

All the debate regarding trusting the vaccine was about trusting scientists rather than Trump spinmakers with an eye on November 4. Again, no reasonable dispute on this.

Right. Because Trump spinmakers are vaccine makers.

I think you're seeing democratization of media and you don't quite know how to handle it. You're seeing joe rogan and alex jones on a YouTube video get more viewers in a few hours than the approved opinions at CBC get in a year across all channels and it freaks you out. Hence, ok Boomer

That’s correct. That Rogan video got more views than “the national” on CBC gets in 250 days cumulative.
