The pumpkins are already ripe on the vine so I wonder if they will move Halloween into September?

I knew it...there was reported to be a fireworks explosion just now, and reported over on the Emergency Thread.

Halloween rehearsals are underway.

What's the scoop on haunted houses and corn mazes this fall? It's nearly October and I have neither seen nor heard anything.

My children, who do an elaborate display on our front porch every year, favour Dollarama for props.

Pendray has a maze again.  And a lousy website.

Don't forget to keep your pets in tonight.

A heartbroken Vancouver dog owner is urging people to stop setting off illegal fireworks and firecrackers, after her frightened family pet was hit by a Skytrain Saturday after hearing blasts rock their neighbourhood.

And the BC SPCA says while the circumstances in this case were unusual, they see dozens of pets lost, injured and sometimes killed after being spooked by Halloween fireworks every year.

Ali Fluevog says she was in in an off-leash area at Vancouver’s Trout Lake park Saturday with the family’s beloved pet Maggie,a 9 -year-old lab cross, was spooked by fireworks. The dog ran to a nearby Skytrain station, and fell onto the tracks.

Most dog experts say you can actually acclimatize your pets to fireworks, if you want to.

I suppose police dogs have that training, as well as horses that served in the battlefield in WW I.

My dog pulls me home when he hears a firework on a walk. Instinctual lightning safety mechanism? All the dogs that were not scared and didn't get to safely got zapped and didn't get to reproduce?

All the smart kids/parents were at Westhills and Kettle Creek.  An ambitious kid could hit 400 homes.

I had to work tonight so missed out, but there is one dense area on salty on Maliview drive where the residents mostly get together and really get into the spirit. Many houses on this street see more than 400 kids trick or treating. Amazing!

my kid managed a crazy haul, i think she broke her own record!, though i did note that it seemed like less trick or treaters out there this year, we were in a family complex and not a single trick or treater in sight at 7pm, i found it really odd
