How does this work with zoning/land use? It's still technically a strata? Can they change it to a rental apartment and then sell?

How does this work with zoning/land use? It's still technically a strata? Can they change it to a rental apartment and then sell?

 

No impact on zoning or land use: whether strata or not it's still "multifamily residential." I don't believe Victoria has implemented the new rental tenure zoning introduced by the Province last year.

 

Whether a building is strata or not does not determine whether it is a rental apartment. If some wants to cancel an existing strata or stratify an existing there's a lot more work involved, and that's a whole other beast.
