This is VV's poll for a Victoria council candidate in the run-up to the 2018 election, plus the question on whether or not the City of Victoria should dedicate $250,000 towards a Citizen's Assembly on amalgamation.

VV's two mayoral polls can be viewed at poll 1 and poll 2.

9 of 10 voters have picked johal.

1) This is a very specific group of people

2) This is a tiny number of people

3)  People that do not live in Victoria are voting

It is entertaining but meaningless

0 out of 12 voters here have picked Ben Isitt but I expect him to be the top vote-getter in the actual election.

I thought Mike assured us that all the voters are locally sourced, free range and organic.

That's a pretty big hint that VV readers might not be terribly representative of CoV at large.  Poll is still interesting to see what people here are thinking.

Even though many CoV voters will follow each other willingly over the edge of cliff doesn't mean that VV members will follow suit.

Certainly more-so than our Facebook polls, that's for sure! :)

They're all vegan too.  That's what VV stands for.  Vegan Voters.

And for heaven's sake, Pam Madoff has been on council for 25 years!  The twin towers were still standing around the time her best before date expired.

I like Pam. I voted for her. I heard her stand up to Lisa at a council meeting. Of course, Lisa immediately played the victim.

Sometimes the enemy of your enemy is not your friend. Did Pam stand up to Lisa regarding the removal of the JSB statue? No, she voted with the rest of the sheep and then back-peddled to the media in the days afterwards. I'm sorry, but Ms. Madoff has had her time. Much fresher blood is needed on council.

I don’t disagree with you regarding the handling of the statue. But unfortunately “new blood” often means younger, social justice warrior types that have a “vision” for our city. One that does require our input. That’s my concern.

I pretended I was a left wing CoV voter and added my votes accordingly.

In protest to mike for not putting any Saanich polls up.

So right now this poll would be electing:

Alberts, Andrew, Johal, Loveday, Madoff, Reeve, TJ, and Young. Which IMHO would be an excellent result, and is never going to happen.

I was going to cast a vote for Marianne Alto - until her shameful display, propping up the unelected City Family.
