Work stopped because soil underneath the Gemi Hair building collapsed...

Ouch! I was just in Gemi the other day to pick up some hair product.

I haven't been following this thread. Why are those 3 old houses still there on Cook St? One would think the developer would have like to buy those as well.

I believe Chard did try and buy them, but the owner wasn't interested.

VV forumers are notorious for their heavy use of hair products (how else to achieve those dramatically spiky styles?), but I hope you aren't suggesting the ground soil might have heaved because you removed too massive a load from the store? If so, that would have been negligence on your part. Try to space out your purchases so you buy smaller amounts of product every few days rather than such a huge load at once. One truck at a time, as I like to say.

But you're not surprised a retired VVer is mobile (and motivated) enough to go out and do basic errands for himself? You believed that part of his story?

Not only do I have hair, but I am even getting it cut tomorrow.

Maybe this time you could advise the property owners in advance, so they can shore things up first.

Fun fact: there has never been an unjust retired VVer.

I'm just trying to gauge how far we can stretch things while still maintaining the semblance of natural conversation. (I'll report back to the writing team with my findings and then Mike K. will make the final call on which way the plots and characters should develop.)

I was thinking about shaving my head and as far as I know I’m not going bald. More vitamin D exposure, less allergens, less time in the shower. You don’t really need excess head protein, to style it seems bizarre

I'm guessing the owner (s) of those 3 old houses are doubting their decision now to hold out.

It's all for the best. A different project at a later date should* translate into more variety in the overall look and feel, more genuine granularity, etc.

*emphasis on "should"

Once contemporary setbacks are applied, any new build in this location is going to be pretty small

The best use for those properties now is a public square, not a building. Kind of like at the corner of Oak Bay and Foul Bay.
