Is there a more recent thread for the current proposal by Trillium and KPLJames Architecture?

Drawings formally submitted on August 9. To recap: proposal would retain the existing Highgate Lodge and add a new 6-storey, 102 unit seniors housing and complex care building on the west lots.

Right, the Terraces at Highgate Lodge.

I'm not sure what has changed between the old drawings and the August 9 ones. The unit count remains the same, though.

I don't think I've seen the former drawings. The landscape drawings indicate that there will be a pub and bowling alley on site! Whether they're resident amenities or open to the general public is an unanswered question.

Excellent - where do I sign up? A home, pub and a bowling alley all-in-one deal, and smack in between my two childhood neighborhoods to boot - perfect!

This one looks pretty straightforward...

Only in the CRD could a project as straightforward as this take 10 (plus?) years to get approved.  :whyme:

/\.....Well we must bear in mind the potential for blocked view corridors of the splendoriferous Mt Tolmie......

We needed to revise the site works and landscape as Saanich added a few feet to their western dedication + realigned the bike pathways to favour Cedar Hill rather than the Crossroad. No major changes to the building itself. Queries, I'll happily answer.

Not open to the public, but you are welcome to plan your retirement early with Trillium :)

How young is too young for this project?

You'd need to discuss that with a Trillium rep, I only know the building specs, not the occupants :) It never hurts to begin planning as soon as you see a place you like.

Thanks, Jasmine!

How many lanes will the bowling alley have? And just to reiterate, the pub will be for building occupants I’m guessing?

I imagine it will be for residents--like the "pub" in the Berwick in Royal Oak.

Four lanes planned, and yeah, pub for residents only (+ invited guests within reason, typical Trillium policies).

Is this the only seniors home with a bowling alley as far as such facilities go in our region?

I'm going to propose a pub and bowling alley for my strata.  God knows we've got the population demographics to match that of the Berwick retirement castle!  A little bit of life and energy is long overdue.

While you're at it, I believe the existing Highgate Lodge building already has a billiards room and wood shop!

Also notable in the new building: a daycare

I thought this was targeted as a seniors residence? Do seniors have a significant need for what I presume is daycare for children?

It's possible that Trillium or the daycare operator will encourage residents to be involved, which would be beneficial to both the seniors and the kids
