It's very rare for any project thread to be suffixed by Gordon Head!

If you can sell condos in this location, you can sell them anywhere.

Would we say this is a bad neighbourhood?

One of the most coveted locations for condos is within walking distance to UVic. These will be snatched up super fast.

Yeah this seems like a pretty easy sell to me.

I grew up close to here. I can't recall this corner of GH ever being considered a 'bad neighbourhood'. Some housing density is much needed, and a new commercial entity won't hurt either.

no different than selling them in cordova bay or ten mile point.  it's been done successfully.

Saanich needs to really look more closely at Gordon Head and allow for a lot more density.   UVic needs the housing for people who go to school there and work there.   The university should have a series of office buildings nearby to allow businesses and NGOs that are connected to UVic to be closer at hand.

This development is a terrible idea. As a Gordon Head resident I am completely opposed to this monstrosity development on a relatively small lot and on a two maxed-out single lane residential traffic roads.  How many 2 story buildings do you see on the photo provided by the developers? Imagine the 4 story building built between all houses you see in the photo. There was no neighborhood consultation. This is no higher density project. This is only a money grab project done by a greedy developer. My neighbors and I will fight this projects as hard as possible. We will have to live with it if build. I assume that everyone that positively commented on this development does not live in the area or has an idea about Gordon Head area.

I agree with Cata. People who does not object to this project are not living in Gordon Head. I have heard nothing positive from my neighbors upon this proposal, and there is no way that we will let this happen in our neighborhood.

It's like there's a housing crisis on Monday, no housing crisis on Tuesday, a housing crisis on Wednesday, and no housing crisis again on Thursday.

Welcome to VV, btw. What is it about this proposal that does not align with your vision for the area?

For interest sake, based on current school district catchment areas:

Hillcrest elementary: 77% capacity

Gordon Head Middle: 100% capacity

Lambrick Park: 59% capacity

Always something to consider when you're dropping a significant number of 3BR units into a neighbourhood

I've lived in Gordon Head for 18+ years and went to Gordon Head Elementary & Middle School, Lambrick Park, and UVic. I think this development will be a great addition to the neighbourhood.

I lived in Gordon Head about a block from this site on Longview Dr a couple years ago and would have been happy to see this near my place. Are there any new condo or apartment buildings that you like? Or are single family homes the only things that are not monstrosities to you?

The areas within walking distance of UVic desperately need to densify. 21,000 students and 5,000 employees but it looks like it's in the middle of a suburb. (Don't even get me started on Camosun Interurban).

Unfortunately looks like this was turned down by staff before it even got to council.

Another horrible idea in this neighborhood. As a resident here only a block away, I have lived here for forty years. Delivered newspapers to my own house in 1967. The ridiculous traffic supporting uvic and their nonsense, employees parking along Gordon Head rd to avoid paying for parking. Completely out of hand. Also another larger development at the north end of Gordon Head rd is going to further the traffic and untold problems down the road. I ask my fellow neighbours to be vigilant and stop all these developers from destroying this neighborhood. Ask them if they live in the neighborhood….I don’t think so.

Parasites…..

Budwick, where is that other large project at the north end of Gorden Head Road?
