Lots of room to grow in that neighbourhood. And the community association agrees, even encourages. At least they did when I was part of the group. It was refreshing to see. They did try to shape growth. I remember a few barn storming sessions. Pretty well the whole current strip from Burnside to Gorge  is super ugly. And a good number of the single family lots are already owned by developers. Or speculators who are sitting on the lots waiting for a developer to want them.

Yes, indeed.

What I find perplexing, though, is council’s decision last month to nix Abstract’s proposal on Raymond Street just north of the TCH at Tillicum. I never would have expected that project to get rejected. Is that the same neighbourhood association north of the TCH, Redd?

Different neighbourhood yes. Plus those residents really didn't want it. It would have been the only multi residential building or any thing not single family  in that neighbourhood, at the end of a dead road. I wouldn't have want it either. Way too early for that area to be developed. I don't understand why abstract DID propose it. Lots of ugly commercial buildings and old houses along the other direction.

So I walked by this proposal this afternoon. Not research, truly was the way to get to my friends. This developer got the BINGO. There was a for sale sign in that spot  very recently for an awkward shaped land assembly - an "L" I think.. Some developer/speculator gave up trying to get the rest. Next person either gave those remaining folks a deal they couldn't refuse. Or said they would make their life hell during construction and for ever after in the design of the building  -  :) .
